Excited, exschmited
1. Next weekend I have nothing to do. NOTHING. Maybe dinner with Beth and Laura or Ed and Jen, and then Father's Day. That's it!
2. The first week of July, off. Like off-off. Getting paid for time off would be much nicer but I'm just glad to have some time to sit and plan stuff.
3. Red Sox Thursday? Interleague play is weird but I love the park and it's supposed to be nice out.
4. Bike riding, if I keep typing positive things about this will it insure that I don't fall off once I actually get on it?
5. The new HBO prohibition show will be on and Kenny Powers will be back in September. Which will be here in the blink of an eye so I'm going to start getting jazzed now!

Wednesdays will be things I'm thankful for.
1. I am healthy as shit, the older I get, the more important this becomes.
2. My family is awesome in a noninvasive way. So is Ed's. What are the odds?
3. My MacBook. Srsly, LOVE.
4. Maintaining an income even though I'm unemployed; way luckier than others even if I pout like Bitter Sally ALL DAY LONG
5. Not giving a shit about weddings or babies. I would have no hair left. And I'm glad it's not a fake and stressful not caring, it's legit. Way better stuff to focus on in life. I do give a shit that Ed will be my husband one day, and for that I am ALSO thankful.
Off to Fenway, where Dice-K better give me some more stuff to be thankful for...

Just another cra-zy Saturday night
Today was wasted trying to get Red Sox tickets, I love my team, and I love paying face value. I got in a few times but only was able to get section 35 [barf] or SRO and the tried to get better and got booted. Whatever, it would've been more on the credit card and I'm trying to save, right? So yeah, had some Instant Breakfast and tea and chained myself to the computer between laundry and tidying up.
Lindsay R came over for a bit on her way home from a shower, I had some Chex Mix and water. Then I made some Kraft Alfredo mac n cheese, a teeny bit of Boones, and a giant piece of garlic bread. Ed actually found bread at WF that I don't like, a first. It's ok, but sour doughy in a strong way that is not good. Does this stop me from eating it? Hell's to the no. The day I do not eat bread that's available in my house, Armageddon is on the way for sure. It's an extra disappointment because Ed got this really good butter that he says is awesome but I can't really tell - it's yummy but I think I'm missing out on the amazing factor. Alas, I don't need to fall in love with expensive, fatty-ass butter. Especially when I'm not exercising. Which I didn't today. But will tomorrow. Yes.
Back to Miss America on TLC [WOW train wreck, and I thought my reality shows were entertaining...they've got nothing on this] and organizing my life. Princess is at his brother's house of debauchery, doing god knows what so I have the house to myself. I am relishing in losering it up. Off to eat a limited edition Apple Pie yogurt from Stonyfield Farms, then maybe some tea. I need to try and remember to grab my laundry before I fall asleep. These are my roaring 20's.....

"Why doesn't Wendy's deliver?"
Friday: In Cambridge [yay!]
Had a Finagle HEC on everything....OMG, this was one of the BEST breakfast sandwiches ever. For real, like great combo of flavors, the bagel was fresh, right proportions of ingredients, it was rad. Made some tea at work, had a little apple that came with it. For lunch, met with PYV and had some Thai [pad see yu from Similans, delish] and a diet Pepsi. Should've had a yogurt in the afternoon but instead had a snickers and more tea. It gave me two snickers, I was siked. That machine errs in my favor more often than not, so I have a snack for next week already! Headed home. I think I made some eggs and toast for dinner? And had a couple glasses of Riesling? I can't remember. We did nothing, went to bed at like 11:30. I brought toast to bed, this is my new thing.
Saturday: Slept till 10:30ish? Ed woke me up with MCDONALDS BREAKFAST. I love him. I was ready to stab him 3 hours later but we really are perfect for each other and he gets me. So half a Sausage McGriddle and an Egg McMuffin started my day, awesome. Had some water/juice with that to cut the extreme salt. Packed some stuff, had an apple and headed to WR, got a large DD tea for the ride. Had a few choco-covered pretzels for a snack, nothing else. Saw my dad's pics from Azerbaijan, amazing. Again, so glad he made it back in one piece. My cat was kinder to me than the prior visit, bastard. Grabbed some Sugar cupcakes and a bottle of red and white for my trip to Pembroke to watch game 6 with Work Lindsay and Ex-Work Meaghan and their boyfriend's both named Jesse. Jesse B's son was there too, he is super cute and very well behaved. Kids still scare me, I was so impressed with how LR knew when he should go to bed and what he should eat and Jesse got him a sippy cup when he hadn't even asked. So much responsibility, I can't wait to babysit our friends'/siblings' kids on weekends. And we'll leave it at that.
At LR's, had some chips and salsa, hummus and pita [both TJ's..really good]. 3 slices of pizza, a couple glasses of wine. Everything was delicious. I didn't eat a cupcake, trying to be semi-good? Headed home after we won [woo-hoo!] and had a chocolate twizzler and some toast.
Sunday: Lazy lazy lazy. Woke up at like 11? Packed and cleaned all day, productive but there is still sooo much to do. Ed made a scrambled egg, tomato, cheese thing with toast for breakfast. It was delicious, had it with some tea and watered down juice. Today was not a good food day, thus the title of this blog. I was tired and lazy and it's finally turned cold, like heat needs to be on cold. I think it reached 50 today, maybe? I just went out for the first time right before the game to grab ice cream and water, how sad. Anyhow, had a couple bites of a corn dog, a quesadilla, a bowl of cereal, and now I'm having a fettuccine LC. I am single-handedly keeping TJs in business with the first 4 of that list of 5 , wow. I also had a few spoonfuls [big spoonfuls but still, probably 4-5 oz] for B&J Pumpkin Cheesecake seasonal ice cream. That shit is delicious, I was impressed with my restraint. Princess is napping [Pink Hat] and hasn't discovered it yet, once it's a known food item, it will be gone in seconds. I'll prob grab a glass of wine and finish leafing through my magazines while I watch the game. So exciting, so unnerving. I love/hate October baseball; GO SOX!!

Don't Call It A Comeback/ So lazy lately
The Red Sox are my best friends and worst enemies, seriously.
No exercise, Erin and I are back on for Monday.
And finding a 5k, Magoun's has one every Thursday apparently? A good goal.
Today:

Grilled Cheese and Tomato
Diet DP
Cape Cod Chips
Yogurt
2 Eggs, pieces of toast
Juice
A beer
Half of a small PB Chip JP Licks cone...so good....so not on my diet
Will be eating some bread now most likely..one of those weeks. Blechhhhhh.
GO SOX.

I Hate Mohawks
Last night late [bad!] I had some garlic naan with butter and a cup of rice with soy sauce, my new snack. I think that was all...
Today I WFH'd, pretty busy! Had a banana and some tea early on, then 2 fried eggs and some WPF toast for midday lunch/brunch-whatever. I made a way-too-big caprese for an afternoon snack and followed that with some chocolate covered pretzels. Am I gross? I might be. I love food. Even if it makes me feel sick. I felt sick on the way to bed last night, kind of this afternoon, a little bit now. Yet I continue to eat.
I just had a TJ veggie burrito bathed in sour cream and salsa verde. I will be having a cup of rice tonight as well [Ed makes a pot for dinner most nights and doesn't eat all of it so it sits rotting over night - I'm like a human disposal] and a glass of Rieseling THANKS TO THE FUCKING RAYS*. I turned it off, I'm a pox this year and hope by not watching, maybe we'll turn it around. I still have faith, though I recognize that the score could easily be 94-1 right now. Maybe we need to be shoved in a corner to actually hit, run, pitch, win....the Rays. They're killing me, 10 years old, stupid mohawks, the manager's creepy glasses. And at our park. Tampon Bay Bastards.
* One might note a correlation between my horrible attitude and the fact that I haven't exercised in like forever. It's been a lazy week and weekend. Erin and I have a jog date tomorrow pre-trivia. T is Wednesday this week due to tonight's comeback. That's right, comeback.

monday monDAY MONDAY!!
Ooh, addendum to last night: I got home and had some tomato, mozzarella and basil with oo and white basalmic vinegar and spices. Then I had a giant slab of toast and then a bowl of TJ's Flakes and Chocolate cereal with soy milk. The latter sounds better than it is...I had a banana on it to try and improve it...THAT's where the banana comes in! Good call. So I was apparently hungry late-night on Sunday, sue me. Had some riesling too.
Anyhow, this will be brief because I'm starving and the Sox game SUCKED. Had some Shredded Spoonfuls and soy milk to start, a tea when I got to work, a banana mid-morning. More tea. Headed home to WFH because I had Sox tickets [Mom bailed, so sister and I attended] for the afternoon. 2 TJ quesadillas with sour cream and salsa for lunch, a [generous] handful of chocolate covered pretzels for a snack. An apple on my ride home too, forgot about that. Went into town for the game, had 2 beers and a hot dog, handful of Cracker Jacks.
Weekend Update
On the bright side, had a PHENOMENAL everything bagel with butter and CC [it was a theme of the weekend apparently] and a tea from a place called Bagel Garden [?] on route 202 in East Shitshoe Nowhere NJ. It was really good. Princess had some kind of sandwich with lox and tomatoes as well, and he said that was really good too. So good find, good stamina for the ride home. Had a later pit stop at a rest area in CT and split a chipwich and faux ice cream drumstick from the machine, and a hot cocoa from the machine [usually I'm a big fan, this one not so much. Ed drank most of it.]. Made it home in like 6.5? hours, around 6:30. Napped.
Headed over to Erin's to catch the game. I love that we live across the street from each other, I will be sad to move if we ever get our house [it's going well, I'm just a pessimist by nature about big deals like this]. I showered, popped on sweatpants and was over there in 2 seconds. We ordered some pizza - big shout out to Angelina's in Teele Square, by far the best pizza in the area [trumped only by Pinnocchio's in Harvard Square, IMHO], I had a Nantucket Nectar's lemon tea. No booze, I was exhausted and kind of trying to chill out? Ed is on the wagon, I am definitely not but trying to be more conscious. Erin made pudding, chocolate, it was awesome. I learned she hates the skin on the top. no idea why I found this surprising [I HEART the skin], but I did - totally makes sense in hindsight. Anyhow, so good.
Stayed over there until like 11:30, came home and crashed. The game went 12 innings and we lost so I'm glad I went to bed. I am so not quitting on my team but if TBS and MLB insist on having 8-8:30 and 9 pm starts, I'm going to bed, that's it. Slept till ELEVEN the next morning....that was nice.
Sunday, got some WPF, nad 2 pieces of toast with 2 fried eggs. Some tea, some juice. Headed over to WR after some cleaning and errands. Had some grapes throughout the afternoon. Daddy made a dinner of steak, mustard sauce, potatoes, asparagus, pork. Had a chunk of the WPF Pumpkin bread pudding cake I brought over. Had a glass of red wine and some juice. May have had a banana? It's Monday night now and it's all a blur. Drove my dad to the airport for his trek to Azerbaijan, he is excited and nervous and so are we.
Nice Day for a Purple and Yellow Wedding
Headed into their little town for an everything bagel with butter and cream cheese and some tea, a Cherry Zero Coke too. Had a banana and some mini Reeses and Kisses throughout the day to snack. Ran some errands and tried to help Keith out as best we could, checked into the hotel at 3. Hotel is a stretch actually. It was fine, let's just say I am not an inn/B&B person, we'll leave it at that. There were sheep grazing in the yard. I am not a farm person either.
Wedding was awesome, really really beautiful and sweet and earnest and well-planned and thoughtful and gorgeous. Most importantly, they both seemed to have a genuinely superb times, and that is what matters. I won't babble personal details of my BFF's wedding on the Interwebs, but everyone there had a 100% blast. As a taste, the last song they played for the night was Scenario. It doesn't get much better than that.
The service was 9 minutes long [awesome] and followed by drinks and apps. I had a couple Tanqs and tonics [is it bad that I kind of love gin? does that make me a holic? Princess recoils at gin and he is way more of a drunk than I am....hmm] and some mozzarella and tomatoes and prosciutto and melon. So good. Dinner was awesome, filet with asparagus and potatoes in a mushroom sauce. Had a roll with butter, some white wine, some red wine, another Tanq and tonic. Danced the night away, had some cake....soooo good, like a berry shortcake/sponge cake/angel cake thing? Whipped cream, layers of white cake and strawberries, raspberries and blueberries. So good. More candy from the favors too, of course. Not sure if there's ever been a scenario in my life that I've rejected candy when placed in front of me.
That was that, we wound up at the bar, caught the end of the Sox game [Ed and I acted like assholes, of course], made a bet with Keith's wonderful dad about the Phillies-Sox World Series that is hopefully coming down the road. Headed over to another bar for a nightcap and some pizza. I surprisingly refrained from the pizza and stuck to a DC since it was late and I was driving and had sobered up a good while ago. Headed back to Sheepville and for some sleep.

Bread For Dinner - Absolute Bliss
Rough morning, made it out of bed on time but it was downhill from there. Had a garlic and Earth Balance WW english muffin and some oatmeal. Wisely made a tea for the ride to WF. Still almost fell asleep like 6 times, it was dangerous. I had the windows down all the way and was singing and still kind of nodding...scary.
WF was WF....ehh. I dragged a lot of ass and showed off my ticket to anyone that I could. Nearly 30 years on the planet and apparently all I have to show for it is that I have turned into "That Guy". Awesome. Lunch was a turkey wrap, the chips, bite of a quickly proven nasty pickle. Cherry Coke Zero. Had several more cups of tea all afternoon. Had a few candy corn, my teeth hate me. Ate an apple on the drive home. Upon arrival, starving....had a piece of WPF with cheese toasted on it, then went back and had a GIANT piece of toast with real butter. Felt so guilty but soooo worth it. Bread and butter, how I love thee. For real, stuck on an island the rest of my life - bread, butter, cheese, apples, tomatoes, wine and chocolate. A couple of baby tigers and my iPhone. Maybe some S&P and spices, a little OO or EVOO as semi-annoying RR says. Mmmm....perfect.
Thought that would be my supper but then Princess made some rice. He is such a good boyfriend, I am lucky to have a cook in the house. Otherwise it would be a very Lean Cuisiney type of life, food wise. I hate cooking. Love food, hate preparation, timing, cooling, etc. With 2 caveats: love decorating cakes, love scooping ice cream. Ate some rice and soy sauce while watching Mad Men reruns and the game. Did I mention Roger Sterling was like 5 feet from us at the game last night? Our only nearby brush of fame. By the time I had enough liquid courage to speak to him, he was kind of a douche.
Seeing famous people is weird, at least for me since I don't live in NY or LA. Something about it makes you care more about people you shouldn't. Like I LOVE Joan H and Don Draper on that show, LOVE. And January Jones is amazing as well. But this was Roger Sterling....a handsome older man, love that kind of boss-dude-arrogant-creep of a character. But still, not in my top 3 or maybe even top 5. I don't blame him but I kind of do....get a private box with your Emmy money. And famous people are supposed to LIKE being famous. It's not like he was in his house and I broke in. Whatever. Plus his companion [son? nephew?] kept cheering by number: "Let's go 1-1" [Kotsay] "Strike em out 5-8" [Pap]. To quote Nick Swarsdon, "What, are you 5?" Did you just learn to count? Sooo bitter. Still L-O-V-E the show, 100%.
Beyond that, I really need to get like a little diet tracking module. I feel like I had one in my old iPhone, maybe I can look it up. I'm eating way too many calories. Not that I work out hard, but I move so much more than ever before and I'm the same weight. I lose 1 lb or 4 once in a while but always hover around the same number. I guess it's good I'm not gaining? I'm thinking now that I kind of have an exercise routine down, time to observe the food.
Ed and I are considering not drinking for a while, smart move [after Keith's wedding, of course...not to sound like a total holic]. And I've got to go find another 5k. Although it's starting to get cold and I need some layers or something. No idea how people run in chilly temps and weather and such. I am such a pussy. Ok, I'm thirsty, off to bed. Bay just got a double in the bottom of the 9th, I feel sick - good sick, but sick....GO SOX>>>>

Just when I thought last Sunday couldn't be topped
Ok, so didn't turn out so super amazing. What was super-amazing was our seats: State Street pavillion, right above where Remy sits. We had a waiter! And cup-holders!!

It was awesome. Bum out of an ending, entertaining game over-all, not cold until the 10th or so inning. A bit of a silver lining is my favorite ex-boss Joe is going tonight and he would miss his play-off game if we did win so I'm taking solace in that. Plus we're currently winning game 4 in the 8th so I can be a bit ok with it.
So I'm wayyy behind, let's back it up. Yesterday was Sunday, I got up and grabbed some WPF peasant white [and a little chocolate cake for my parents' house]. Made some ham, egg and cheeses on that, had a cup of tea, some juice-water. Rode the bike for 25 minutes, did my arms pgood girl!]. Headed over to the parents after getting the call from Meagan that the opportunity of a lifetime would occur tonight, so stoked. Sad to miss my parents' Sunday supper but life is about choices. Ed dropped me off, took all of the laundry again [second week in a row, I'm lucky- can't wait for my own W&D!!!]. Hung out for a bit with the fam, I had to leave at 5 so it was brief. My mom made me a delicious salad of Bob Gaudet tomatoes, cukes and some store-bought mixed greens. Tossed that with some olive oil, white basalmic and S&P. SOOOOO good. Linus was being a brat and apparently peed all over the attic prior to my visit. Seriously, I somehow went to the MSPCA for a kitten and adopted an asshole.
Headed into town around 5:30, got a meter by BU. We knew we had fancy seats so I had to trade my chucks and giant Pap jersey for heels and a button down and sweater [at Fenway? and NOT after work? too weird]. Went up to our seats, fully dazzled. We had a lovely waiter Ben, and I had 2 beers, a pinot grigio [scariledge at Fenway but i have boobs so it's not sooo bad], a hot dog [yummm!], chips, some chicken tenders [mehh] and some fries [ehh]. The game was 5+ hours long, I got out of there after 1, took forever to get a cab, one of my major issues with downtown Boston. The T "runs" but not nearly as often or efficiently as needed - yet they don't put enough cabs out either!! Ridiculous. Chugged a Propel on the way home, I was getting that so tired I feel nauseous feeling? Yeah, not a great sleeping weekend, but a great weekend overall. Angels just tied it up...GO SOX!!!

Supa Nerd
That would be my self-description tonight. After scrambling to get down to the delayed Sox-Yanks game, angsting over parking taking so long, and practically running there [does that count as exercise?] with visions of my dad putting around the TW statue muttering with his headphones on, we left in the 4th when the f-ing monsoon started up again. I think I might hate rain more than snow now. The shoveling thing sucks, but I'll be honest, I shovel like once a winter. I'm lazy and good at cleverly getting other people to do my responsibilities. But yeah, it's a tough call after this spring and summer. Hard to imagine the middle of the country is dry when we are turning into a rainforest.
I should back up: no exercise today, worked in Cambridge, had 2 Reese's cups, a DD tea and 2 bites of rotten yogurt for breakfast. Intended to just have the yogurt, the rot prompted the Reese's...I'm lying....I INTENDED to have a Finagle A Bagel that Andy was grabbing for me if they were open, but they weren't. They have been "Opening Soon" for 6 months, quickly becoming the Big Dig of round foods. Anyhow, had my yogurt as back up but my yogurt expired Sept 13, and I noticed this after consuming a good tablespoon. I think this unwilling experiment proves exactly how much even good yogurt tastes like ass.
Went to the mall and got my Mac Airport [blog from the couch! work from the couch! google from my couch! use my iphone on my WiFi! thank god!] and a Tendercrisp Salad from BK, with a diet coke and Italian dressing. Ate at my desk, I am so social. Had a mug of hot chocolate as a mid-PM snack...it is gnarly raw out. Headed home at 7 [!] only to be called by my dad and told the game was on, for 8. It was bumped to 8:30, I got there late as previously discussed. We each had a foot-long, some peanuts, split a pretzel and had a Harp. I love my dad....only he could pull off the headphones/newspaper combo at Fenway for a late September Sox/Yanks meeting. It was awful. We were losing 12-3? when we left....final score 19-8. Yeah boys! I'm sure they are just reserving their energy for the play-offs, a wise choice.
So, back from the game, soaking wet and cold, angry, I redeemed my evening! I set up the AirPort BY MYSELF. And even figured out how to do the remote thing with the iPhone BY MYSELF. And tracked down a duplicate detector for iTunes online, downloaded it and am now running it BY MYSELF. While blogging. Thus the title. Self-sufficiency is the key to happy home-ownership, so hopefully tonight is the start of a trend in the right direction. As opposed to my general persona of Helpless Sally. I'm still calling my dad if I get flat tire.
That's all, had some decaf coconut chai tea and a Butterfinger as a reward for my savvy tech skills. I'm ready for bed now, long day. On the exercise front, helping B&E move tomorrow. In the monsoon. I'm so excited to see their place though, and they are adorable, so it will be ok. Erin and I need to run around Fresh Pond entirely one day soon, the race is like a week away. Acktacular!

It’s been a while
So yeah, I haven’t written since midday Sunday I guess? I will have to do this in stages. Can’t wait! Sunday afternoon progressed with 40? minutes on the bike and my arm exercises. Went to my parents, had some of those chocolate-covered pretzels from Trader Joes? They are friggin delicious like amazing delicious. Went out and ran some errands [washed my car instead of spending money at Old Navy, this must be what being responsible feels like], came back and it was still and hour until dinner so I had a banana and some more pretzels. I probably had 10 total, it’s amazing what makes me feel guilty when I’m trying to be healthy.
For dinner we had steak, potato, asparagus, some wine, more pretzels. Got home and while I don’t remember this, my notes [such a nerd] indicate I then ate a pickle, had a beer[?], a piece of garlic bread [stole 1 slice from Ed’s parents so I wouldn’t buy a whole loaf], tomato, basil and mozzarella with oil and vinegar and half a Skor bar. Jesus, I’m impressive when it’s in print. No exercise, minus washing the car, which is harder than you think. Especially with the amount of bird shit that had accumulated on my poor Corolla.
Monday I oddly can’t remember…I worked from home…oh wait, I went to the baseball game! Ok, so I didn’t have breakfast, had a Lean Cuisine for lunch and then: a kosher hot dog, 2 Coronas, a few peanut M&Ms, a few Twizzlers, some Cracker Jacks and a pretzel. And some DD Hot Chocolate, had Monster SRO tickets, which were awesome, but it was coooold. And they lost. Ok game though and got to see my wonderful old boss which is always nice.
It’s end of the quarter so I’m stressed and therefore eating horribly/erratically… Tuesday I had raisin bran with soy milk, a yogurt and a banana. Walked our running route with Erin [we were lazy and angry]. Went to trivia. WON trivia, #1, so awesome. Had my 2 Erdingers and my pizza, at the whole thing minus 1 slice. Making up for the rest of the day I’m guessing.

Decent start to the week
I got home and was supposed to go running by myself. Didn't happen. Instead had a small piece of Ed's TJ's pesto pizza and cherry tomatoes chopped up with mozzarella per usual. It was delicious and I sat around for a little bit longer and then actually got on the bike for 9+ miles [half hour of hills]. Darling was out, so I caught up on The Hills season so far, it was awesome. Then I did the arms and they are actually getting better! Like still with the old-woman flab but harder in the muscle pieces. Any improvement is welcome.
Red Sox won like 87 to 4, even with Mike Timlin coming in in the 8th inning. I just had a bowl of cereal and some decaf chai. It was a bowl and a half of cereal, if I start lying to the blog, I'm lost. Erin and I have a running date tomorrow night pre-trivia, which will be good. House is getting a bit more hopeful. Maybe I'm up to 20-30% yes? I looked up its walkability, it's pretty good. A bit farther than now but it will be good for my expanding physique. Erin's old roommate left me a bike, I need to grab that and get a cute helmet and make that happen. I'm a bit scared of traumatic brain injury but hopefully it'll work out.
Tired, going to bed. WFH tomorrow to deal with some Meffa stuff....it's getting a bit too real. Scary.

Running is the new walking
Anyhow, so I hiked down to Davis to get some American cheese and WPF bread and hot tea from DD. Erin called while I was walking back so we went running [yay!] after I inhaled a yogurt to stave of LBS. We went to Fresh Pond with Mia, it was fun, sort of...not miserable like moving usually is. We ran pretty far, I have no idea how to estimate mileage [my daddy can do it in his head, but he's been running for like 20 years]. After that spurt we just walked briskly, but exercise is exercise. FP is 2.5 miles around, so our goal is to be able to make it around without feeling like death. Then we're only .6 or so away from the 5k. I need to register for that.
I got home, had ham, egg, and cheese on a piece of WPF and another piece as toast [I used Earth Balance, not butter]. I love ham, egg and cheese apparently, another thing I've learned from the blog. Let's hope cholesterol doesn't catch up with me. I just had an apple and some of my watered down juice. Now I am going to do my arm exercises and take 2 hours to put on make-up because I really like to do that once in a while. The Sox just lost the first half of their rain-out DH, like 8-1. Sadness.
Going to the Alchemist in JP tonight for dinner with dear friend Meagan and her BF Dan, haven't seen them in forever but such is life lately. Darling is going to some party, of course. I've noticed we don't do a lot together, but I kind of like it that way. Makes you appreciate each other when you do see each other and frankly I am neurotic when out anyway and it's one less thing to fuss and worry about. And we're probably going to do karaoke at the Jeannie and while I love karaoke, Ed hates it [though it was totally acceptable back when we started dating...funny how THAT works] and so I only make him go on my birthday. I'm not big on making people do stuff, even if it's Darling. That way, he can't expect me to do anything that he likes that sucks. Works out.
Speaking of not working out, the house inspection is tomorrow. While I am praying that there are no structural flaws and it goes well, I have great apprehension. I'm at 15-20% we get in there. I just found a copy of our offer at it was presented to them and signed and a bunch of crap was changed unbeknownst to me, after I signed it. I'm not Sicilian, but I think I may have just felt what that level of anger feels like upon discovering this. I'm going to remain relatively calm, I will rip Ed a new asshole because this is unacceptable and his friend should know you don't do stuff like that on behalf of people WITHOUT LETTING THEM KNOW, particularly when large sums of money are involved. However, hopefully it doesn't matter because a. the P&S really matters and b. house might not work out anyway. Whatever, I'm jazzed for the inspection, should be informative if nothing else and Darling is paying for it because my commission sucks right now. He is a good boy, 43% of the time.

Wednesdays are over-rated
So yesterday work was insane again. The least satisfying kind of work day is where you spend every second of the 8+ hours doing one thing. Bonus points for when the one thing is boring and/or really doesn't matter. That was my yesterday. Breakfast was cereal, tea, a banana. Lunch was a turkey wrap with chips - argghh- and a pickle. Then I had a string cheese when I got home because of horrid LBS. I tried to run and had noooo energy so it was more like 45 minutes of spurt run/walking.
Got home from that and did my arm exercises, tried to improve my form. Took a shower and made it out just in time for ANTM, those bitches are craaaazy. Had a healthy dinner of frozen peas, garlic naan and butter, and a yogurt. And the aforementioned Riesling. Followed ANTM with PR and RW/RR challenge and the 40-47th innings of the sox game. We won't get into that.
On my way to Cambridge now, bus blogging. Got my DD in hand, drink plans for after work. Today is not going to be healthy.

Best drink ever
Strawberry frozen daiquiri from the RF roofdeck bar. Dad's manly beer is in the background. In addition to two of these [second one was a poor choice...sooo much sugar!], I had a beer, a pretzel, some peanuts and fries and finally got my hands on the obscenity that is a Monster Dog, which I found out is basically the best Fenway Frank ever in proportions one can only dream of. Sox won 14-2 [13-1 when I left, sucky fan, I know]. So good, so good, so good!
September 2
I skipped breakfast, which I NEVER do, but I was wfh this morning and decided to squeak in a half hour on the bike (8+ miles woo-hoo!) and my arm regimen, to be healthy. This caused panic and haste afterwards, so I snuck a yogurt in the car on the way to Westford at like 11:30 (I'd been up since 7:30). Anything to stave off the DD on the way.
Upon arriving at the office, I logged in, shot off a couple emails and then Work-Lindsay and I went to Papa Gino's. Can we discuss the affection I have for this place? The one in craptacular Westford gets bonus points for having the nicest frigging food-staff I've encountered in a while. 2 slices and a Diet Pepsi later and I was in heaven. To be 100% honest, I had a bunch of Lindsay's fries too.
Back to the office for more crap but there is a blessed light at the end of the tunnel. Daddy's got Sox tickets for tonight! The stars aligned and I rearranged things and decided I'd go. So I am on my way there now. I'm telling you, a day can suck to the utmost degree and finishing it off with a beer and a hotdog (and my dad, of course) makes it all better. More later.
