Opening Day!
Got up around 6:20, ate a banana and a swig of gatorade and ran for 1.5 miles. It was ok, the early morning thing is still a little harder but it was only 45 and I felt good. This is a step in the right direction. Got home and got ready. Made my ass some scrambled eggs with american cheese and went to Westford. Here is what I ran, it was a good course:

Westford was fine, it started pouring halfway through negating Opening Day. What else is new...April baseball, I am so ready for it but god it's still cold and shitty out. Hopefully spring gets here right quick.
Had some tea at work. Went to Chilli's for lunch, totally cheated and had Queso but had it with a salad and DC, whatever. Hydrated all day, good times. Got my toe's done for the first time ever. I know girls sweat that but I felt as though I was at the gynecologist, just with more guilt. Tense and nervous and I felt so bad for the girl and it was tickly and I hate situations when I feel like someone is my subserviant. Which weird for someone who wants to be queen, but like queen so I don;t have to do laundry not queen so you have to rub all this shizz on my toes and scrape stuff off. Acck. Won't be turning that into a habit. Glad Erin made me try it, I am averse to change and so I know it was good for me to do it. But not my cup of tea and frankly they're never gonna look awesome so I might as well DIY. Or DIM I guess, if it's me?
Got home, had a string cheese and more tea. Made myself a dinner of green beans in OO with garlic [Ed started it, I'll be honest - I nuke my veggies and put salt on them] and some fish strips. They were ehh....from WF and the TJ's ones are much better. Watching The Hills and drinking gatorade and craving a chipwich right now but no more cheating! Trivia will be a challenge tomorrow. I will get a wrap of some kind I imagine, or maybe steak tips? Whatever, maybe I can make a weekly exception. We'll see...it's a pizza not a loaf of french bread right?

Erin Go Bleerghhaackkk
My sentiments exactly.
WFH today, had some yogurt and tea for br, banana.
2 pieces WPF toast, more tea, some juice. Had PB&J on a tortilla, I like that even if Ed says it's totally weird. More juice, went for a run. Sucked at first, got better, got even better to the point that I thought I could do 2 miles but I bailed after halfway through my 7th lap [so 1.5 straight...not awful]. My plan is to be up to 2 miles this Saturday, then I guess start taking it to the streets?
Daddy says the course is flat, that's good. I will go on google maps and find a local flat course. I know it won't be a huge difference but the race is not on a track and that's all I've been running on. Today was a bit encouraging but exercise is still not the urge I wish it was in me. Alas. I will have to take some advil next time and maybe look into good muscle food...like bananas? There have to be others. I am sore.
So hit up WF and had a salad of tomatoes, mozzarella and cucumbers and 2 big pieces of garlic toast on the WPF. Some kind of dill onion, it has big chunks of onion in it, not a fan comparatively. Not that it's stopping me from eating it. No trivia tonight due to St Patty's, next week. Now I am going to make some tea and have a sweet while I watch season 2 of The Tudors: a nice simple night. So far it's ok, except the king has a bad teenage mustache and more hair this season, not sure how I feel about that. Beyond that, mindless and medieval as usual.

Back to Being The Laziest Blogger Alive

Tuesday night: Had my pizza and 3 beers. We SUCKED at trivia, it was just Martin and myself and in fairness, the questions were hard and it was more that our wagering was way off. Alas.
Wednesday: Bagel with earth balance, some tea. Busted into the Reeses early, had 2. Went to Chillis and had queso and a buffalo chicken salad with 2 DCs. Gross, well the queso was good but the salad...not so much. Went to an energy saving seminar after work, had 2 slices of pizza and some water. Came home, had a yogurt and some sushi from WF. No exercise today either. Had some Werther's, those are becoming a problem.
Thursday: Ate nothing until like 1, then a banana and some DD tea. Made myself a HEC on an everything, very good. Had some yogurt and some juice/water. Ate an apple for a snack. Ed came home and whipped up some noodles with beef from the slow cooker. Then I just had some tea and some of those chocolate butter biscuit cookies and a Fiber 1 bar. That's where I am now. Kind of blah, ready for Friday.
We are going to Chez Henri tomorrow for our 5 year anniversary! Holy Crap. Feels like a decade. Just kidding, I really can't believe it's been so goddamn long. Very excited for good food and warmer temps! I need a weekend stat...and a vacation.
I am so lazy that I wrote all of this last night and didn't even post it so here is a quick follow up for Friday thus far. Wrote myself a post-it last night to wake up, run, do my arms, pack a lunch. Yeah... Snoozed twice, took a shower, barely made it out of the house by 9 [not that I'm on a tight schedule but it's Friday bitches, I want to get shizz done]. Had my HEC from finagle, consistently delicious. Had some tea, had some seltzer. Had a packet of oatmeal with a banana for lunch [I'm gorging tonight] and just had a Werther's. I'm running OUTSIDE tomorrow, mark my words. Now off to 50 degrees and my lovely boyfriend at Chez Henri. And I re-ordered good cable, I'm so typical.

Blrghcndhhhh..........fgvfv,ll........
My sentiments exactly. Let's just say I am really looking forward to the bar. And with no real reason.
Woke up late, scrambled so Ed would have time to shower in hot water and then Ed decided to text his boss and sleep in so my rushing was for not. Just kind of a whatever morning followed by an equally shitastic day. Too much traffic, I am debating whether we shoveled enough and feel like a bad neighbor, too much work, like NUTTY, again today! Spent too much $$ on food: breakfast was an everything bagel w/ Earth balance and light CC and some tea both from Dunkies. Work work work and then caf for lunch - gross. Had a ham and mustard wrap, chips, a pickle and a diet snapple. Gross. More tea, my teeth are gnarly and I swear they have a yellow-ish sheen to them that is getting worse and worse. I have totally let myself go.
Had like 3 or 4 mini Reeses late afternoon, along with a Werthers and a banana on the ride home. Did my facebook/channel 7 expose around 4, still can't decide if that's a poor choice or not. Time will tell, I guess. Still love the snowblower guy. My house is cold - I'm home now, heading to trivia shortly. I'm eating a yogurt. Just found out Erin and Josh are moving to LA. Very exciting but I am a little sad to lose a friend geographically. Whatever, I never get out West and this will be more incentive to go visit. And it's warm so I'm totally jealous already. Not that I don't love Boston, I'm never leaving.
So that's where I stand, no exercise again today and I'm in a bad mood. It's like 10 degrees out. Barf. Work was chaotic, I hate rushing around for stuff that actually doesn't need rushing, I hate taking steps in order to insure something is done a certain way and then seeing them done differently, I hate that some days I have so much to do and other days it's like a pin has dropped. I sound like such a brat! Maybe I am the "kids" I hate so much...yeesh.
I am so thankful to have a job and love the people I work with and my company is very, very decent [still don't understand most of what we sell and the teenage FTW in me will not let me entirely buy into a giant corporate ideal - but good benefits go a LONG way in my book]. I am just kind of in an annoyed rutty funk. I need to do something, I am already dreading that I'll manage to waste our time off, when it's something I really need an could put to good use. I need to start meditating or some shizzz. Off to the bar!

I should be at Trivia
But alas, the weather gods continue to frown heavily on my state. What is up with this? It's treacherous to drive and no one else was going so blahhh. I'm sad but really didn't want to walk there either and this is NOT drunk driving weather. Not that I ever drunk drive, but this is not even 1 beer driving weather. Next week.
I just onDemanded a new Platinum Weddings. I should caveat - I am not obsessed with getting married myself. I'd definitely like to be married someday, to Mr. Ed, and it will happen in some way or another. I'm more looking forward to a honeymoon of nothingness. I am going to an island without cell service for like a month. Or Italy for like a month. By I, I mean we - see why I shouldn't be getting married yet? However, I do loooove me some Platinum Weddings, Bridezillas, Rich Bride/Poor Bride, etc. I just find it fascinating, in the same way I love bad celebrity gossip. Anyhow, they just had their rehearsal dinner in a Wine Cave. I want a wine cave! Where do I get that?
Ok, so I left off on Sunday Night. The Steelers won, whatever. I had some thai food from a place nearby. Garlic Chicken Udon noodles, some veggie dumplings and some shumai. Really good, excited we found it. Then I had some tea and 2 reeses, a could of Dove caramels [gone now, thank god], no exercise duh.
Monday was another no exercise day, I hate Mondays. Worked from home, had my bagel, a yogurt, a banana, lots of tea and juice. Ed and I split a loaf of WPF garlic dill bread with butter for dinner. I know, not the best but this cold and dark crap is making me want to just CONSUME. And not move. Uggghh. Starting to run outside March 1. I was supposed to get organized, so I am going to calendar my life tonight, I'm already a month in and I have nothing, sad. Anyhow, had a couple of Reeses and some tea before bed.
Today I had an apple, my bagel, some tea, did 10 miles [35 min] on the bike, did my arms [still feel nauseaous after, is this what "pushing yourself" feels like? I don't like it]. Let me tangent, this endorphin bullshit is exactly that - bullshit. Exercise makes me angry, I hate it, I hate the time it takes up, I hate the way it makes me sore and tired. We'll see, I'm hoping I get through this and move into that blissful land that healthy skinny people seem to exist in. Right now it's just annoying and aggravating.
Back to food, had some juice and H2O for my workout and then some oatmeal with syrup [sugar free..meh] and bananas for a late lunch. I just had 1 square of Shaw's frozen pizza [not Roachies, but it's close]. And I ordered a large pizza, salad and some mozerella sticks from Angelina's that are on their way. I'm bad. I need some kind of kick in the ass, the Wii-fit ain't cutting it. Enough with the ranting, once the snow stops I'll feel better. Now back to MTV True Life "I'm in a love triangle". Who could ask for anything more?

Wow I missed a week.
I started this Monday and jotted things down like 40 times all week so this is a progressive piece, but still - I'm lazy. I have a major case of the winter blahs, nothing serious just a strong urge to stay in bed and/or eat mashed potatoes and cinnamon rolls at all times. Actually, now that I read that, not that different from everyday life minus the bed thing. Oh well. I just want it to be warmish, I loathe the cold.
So it's been a bit since Saturday…about which, I remembered I had an apple during the day as well. For my Saturday night date with my couch [we're almost going steady], I had that yogurt, some tea, some peas with butter, 2 chocolates and some water. Went to bed earlyish and read, Ed was at a party at Mark's until 2 or so.
Sunday, I did 30 minutes of biking to IASIP, did some of my arms and weighed myself on the Wii-Fit. Went to the parents and had some beef, potatoes, gravy, broccoli, a roll w/butter, wine, some juice, and a teeny cup of mint chocolate Dove ice cream. Got home and had some Chex mix, more tea, 2 dove chocolates, and more juice. Do I eat too much? I don't think I eat so much BAD stuff as my portion control is in fact out of control. That will be the name of my first diet book once I get skinny - patent-pending so hands off, bitches. I just get so rude and angry and lifeless when I don't eat enough. Like my dad does correct portions but then I come home and eat a snack, or 7. Not good - when will I inherit my parents' good habits? Accckkk.
Quick review of the week, pretty boring:
Monday
I had some instant breakfast, my bagel, some tea, some juice.
Worked from home and had some chili over rice w/ jack cheese.
More tea, a giant hunk [like 2.5 good size pieces] of bread and butter for dinner.
Then some more tea and a SKOR bar. B&B for dinner = heaven.
Tuesday
Bagel w/ B&C, some Tea
99 for lunch half a RB sandwich and some salad, with free popcorn [can't say no] to start and a diet coke.
I think I had a banana when I got home?
Went to Trivia: had my pizza and 3 beers and we suuucked it and lost hardcore.
Wednesday
I W'dFH again and made some bomb-ass [1996 lingo] WPF French toast
This filled me up and I had it pretty late so I had Udon noodles as a snack.
And then a Bagel w/B&C for dinner [what?]
A Banana, 2 dove chocolates, some tea
Water, juice, throughout the day; some riesling and some popcorn during Top Chef.
Wow, in review I did zero exercise Monday/Tuesday/Wednesday: BAD. I need cable in the Offigym [just christened it that] STAT.
Thursday
Went to WF, had my Bagel and some Tea
Some H20, hit up McD's for my happy meal for lunch
Ed made Burritos for dinner [yum - and I only had one because they're FILLING]
We split a dessert Watchamacallit….ooh and I had a couple of Mini-Reeses on the way home
56 min on bike [16 miles] // Arms [20 reps of each]
Friday
No exercise
Finagle big-ass HEC w/ Bacon on an everything, DD Large Tea
Seltzer throughout the morning [keeps me awake]
Med chili from ABP [mehh], Diet Pepsi
Teeny square of Bob's lasgna [made up for the chili]
1 Piece of scali bread and butter
Dessert was a mini-slice of carrot cake and a mini-éclair. Both were delicious, and local: have I mentioned I LOVE Medford? F the North End, it's so much easier to park here.
And we got a turbine! Yes, let me tangent for a moment: we now have a large and in charge, and very visible wind turbine in the back of one of our schools on 93. I am very proud of my new city, I think this type of stuff actually makes a dent in a potential issue, in a responsible and non-obnoxious way. It's a smart and future-thinking idea and I think it cost over half a million dollars but I am totally ok with that [my brain rarely allows crazy spending like this under the strict confines of my old-white-man POV]. I was siked to see it tonight on my way to my parents, I did a small cheer. The more I live here, the more I feel really comfortable and pleased with our decision. Time will tell, but I am really siked to be a happy homeowner, even if it means sitting on my couch blogging in Target clearance rack pajama pants on a Saturday night. Which is what I'm back to doing right now. In fairness, I've shopped the clearance rack since Targets came here [Oh-Happy-Day! I've been watching way too much Big love lately]. It's also cold and I prefer hibernating to pretty much anything else right now but….
Come to think of it, I'm actually in a much better mood now [Saturday night, even though my time line above is only up to Friday - sorry, I'm confusing] than I was when I started this earlier this week. I love visiting my parents and sleeping late, 2 things this weekend has allowed already. Now I am dog-sitting and will not be able to sleep in tomorrow, but hopefully I can go back to bed. Or actually make my Sunday productive and wake up early. That's no fun! We'll see how early I get up.
Back to Friday/yesterday: Small post-work trip to Desfina: couple pieces of calamari, one amazing piece of uber-garlic bread w/ tomatoes, some fries with mayo [yes, mayo]. I also had 2 glasses of wine, which reminds me I had a Corona and come chaaaaadonnay at work [earnings meeting in a recession, needs booze]. We came home and I had a mini-reeses or 2, I think? One of those Fridays, and I'm learning the recap is not my string suit anymore. Sad. I did a drunken walk to Whole Foods around 9pm. For some Cinnamon Bun Ben and Jerry's - which prompted me to shout its delicious merits while consuming it last night. It is amazing, I wish it had 0 calories.
Now as I mentioned, today is Saturday. Darling woke me up with a HEC on a bagel. Had some Tea and Juice. Ate a Banana pre-workout. And a Reeses mini. Went to my parents and had killer LBS en route so I ate an apple. At 5 Keane, had a glass of Wine, really awesome Cook's recipe baked ziti, some WPF ciabatta that I brought. Speaking of which, newsflash of the century is that if I could stop eating bread products - not even all carbs, just frigging bread - I'd look like Kate Moss. It doesn't seem that much when I eat it, even though I know I'm being naughty. But then I have to type this and read it and spell check and I'm just like "Sheeit, I'm lucky I don't look like Jabba The Hut". Back to supper: broccoli and chicken in a lemon glaze rounded it out. I had some cranberry juice and then we had teeny pieces of a WPF [yes, also me] Chocolate bread Pudding cake with some mint chip Dove ice cream and peppermint tea for dessert. Yummy! I came home and had some tea and cinnamon-sugar scali toast [with Smart Balance and surprisingly ok - I had 2 pieces]. I was late for dinner because I worked out to episode 3 of The Tudors today: 12.5 miles on bike [40 min] and my armcersises [I'm on a roll tonight!] - 20 reps of each per arm.
That's it, my head is spinning and it's 12:20 so I'm going to take Miss Mia out and go to bed. Tomorrow is the Super Bowl, I would care less. Although the Phantom Gourmet guys are making me want to eat a spread the size of a small state. I will try to resist. I need to get things done tomorrow, I am so sick of weekend where I accomplish nothing, it's pretty much every weekend. I need something to kick me in the ass. And I need to win the lottery. Excuse my typos and nonsense, long and dull week. Hopefully February is the New January. TTFN!
So it's been a bit since Saturday…about which, I remembered I had an apple during the day as well. For my Saturday night date with my couch [we're almost going steady], I had that yogurt, some tea, some peas with butter, 2 chocolates and some water. Went to bed earlyish and read, Ed was at a party at Mark's until 2 or so.
Sunday, I did 30 minutes of biking to IASIP, did some of my arms and weighed myself on the Wii-Fit. Went to the parents and had some beef, potatoes, gravy, broccoli, a roll w/butter, wine, some juice, and a teeny cup of mint chocolate Dove ice cream. Got home and had some Chex mix, more tea, 2 dove chocolates, and more juice. Do I eat too much? I don't think I eat so much BAD stuff as my portion control is in fact out of control. That will be the name of my first diet book once I get skinny - patent-pending so hands off, bitches. I just get so rude and angry and lifeless when I don't eat enough. Like my dad does correct portions but then I come home and eat a snack, or 7. Not good - when will I inherit my parents' good habits? Accckkk.
Quick review of the week, pretty boring:
Monday
I had some instant breakfast, my bagel, some tea, some juice.
Worked from home and had some chili over rice w/ jack cheese.
More tea, a giant hunk [like 2.5 good size pieces] of bread and butter for dinner.
Then some more tea and a SKOR bar. B&B for dinner = heaven.
Tuesday
Bagel w/ B&C, some Tea
99 for lunch half a RB sandwich and some salad, with free popcorn [can't say no] to start and a diet coke.
I think I had a banana when I got home?
Went to Trivia: had my pizza and 3 beers and we suuucked it and lost hardcore.
Wednesday
I W'dFH again and made some bomb-ass [1996 lingo] WPF French toast
This filled me up and I had it pretty late so I had Udon noodles as a snack.
And then a Bagel w/B&C for dinner [what?]
A Banana, 2 dove chocolates, some tea
Water, juice, throughout the day; some riesling and some popcorn during Top Chef.
Wow, in review I did zero exercise Monday/Tuesday/Wednesday: BAD. I need cable in the Offigym [just christened it that] STAT.
Thursday
Went to WF, had my Bagel and some Tea
Some H20, hit up McD's for my happy meal for lunch
Ed made Burritos for dinner [yum - and I only had one because they're FILLING]
We split a dessert Watchamacallit….ooh and I had a couple of Mini-Reeses on the way home

Dessert was a mini-slice of carrot cake and a mini-éclair. Both were delicious, and local: have I mentioned I LOVE Medford? F the North End, it's so much easier to park here.
And we got a turbine! Yes, let me tangent for a moment: we now have a large and in charge, and very visible wind turbine in the back of one of our schools on 93. I am very proud of my new city, I think this type of stuff actually makes a dent in a potential issue, in a responsible and non-obnoxious way. It's a smart and future-thinking idea and I think it cost over half a million dollars but I am totally ok with that [my brain rarely allows crazy spending like this under the strict confines of my old-white-man POV]. I was siked to see it tonight on my way to my parents, I did a small cheer. The more I live here, the more I feel really comfortable and pleased with our decision. Time will tell, but I am really siked to be a happy homeowner, even if it means sitting on my couch blogging in Target clearance rack pajama pants on a Saturday night. Which is what I'm back to doing right now. In fairness, I've shopped the clearance rack since Targets came here [Oh-Happy-Day! I've been watching way too much Big love lately]. It's also cold and I prefer hibernating to pretty much anything else right now but….
Come to think of it, I'm actually in a much better mood now [Saturday night, even though my time line above is only up to Friday - sorry, I'm confusing] than I was when I started this earlier this week. I love visiting my parents and sleeping late, 2 things this weekend has allowed already. Now I am dog-sitting and will not be able to sleep in tomorrow, but hopefully I can go back to bed. Or actually make my Sunday productive and wake up early. That's no fun! We'll see how early I get up.
Back to Friday/yesterday: Small post-work trip to Desfina: couple pieces of calamari, one amazing piece of uber-garlic bread w/ tomatoes, some fries with mayo [yes, mayo]. I also had 2 glasses of wine, which reminds me I had a Corona and come chaaaaadonnay at work [earnings meeting in a recession, needs booze]. We came home and I had a mini-reeses or 2, I think? One of those Fridays, and I'm learning the recap is not my string suit anymore. Sad. I did a drunken walk to Whole Foods around 9pm. For some Cinnamon Bun Ben and Jerry's - which prompted me to shout its delicious merits while consuming it last night. It is amazing, I wish it had 0 calories.
Now as I mentioned, today is Saturday. Darling woke me up with a HEC on a bagel. Had some Tea and Juice. Ate a Banana pre-workout. And a Reeses mini. Went to my parents and had killer LBS en route so I ate an apple. At 5 Keane, had a glass of Wine, really awesome Cook's recipe baked ziti, some WPF ciabatta that I brought. Speaking of which, newsflash of the century is that if I could stop eating bread products - not even all carbs, just frigging bread - I'd look like Kate Moss. It doesn't seem that much when I eat it, even though I know I'm being naughty. But then I have to type this and read it and spell check and I'm just like "Sheeit, I'm lucky I don't look like Jabba The Hut". Back to supper: broccoli and chicken in a lemon glaze rounded it out. I had some cranberry juice and then we had teeny pieces of a WPF [yes, also me] Chocolate bread Pudding cake with some mint chip Dove ice cream and peppermint tea for dessert. Yummy! I came home and had some tea and cinnamon-sugar scali toast [with Smart Balance and surprisingly ok - I had 2 pieces]. "No way"
That was my sentiment this morning at Target [yes, I popped in before work. And yes, it's the 3rd time I've been in less than 48 hours - I have issues] when I found a pair of pants one size up from my current [Wii-overweight] waistline. I was hoping to buy something that would fit with long underwear under it [it's 11 degrees out] and have the bonus of being a *little* more comfy while I'm still fat. However, when it came to actually making the decision to purchase, I said "No Way". As in, "No Way would I even come close to filling those...right?", "No Way I've let myself get THAT much bigger", "No Way, how did I wander into the tent section?" Needless to say, there was no way I could actually buy pants that big. So, "No way" will become my new mantra. Even without the "way", if I could just start saying NO to food I'd be so much better off...alas.
So I went into a vortex yesterday. Everyone has this idea that you work from home and can get soooo much accomplished but my WFH days are nuts-to-butts filled, I get anxious around 3 because the day is going so fast. I love it, I love being busy, I love not having a second to space out - but it makes things like mindless food-blogging go by the wayside.

No moving at all... I had intentions and then just ran out of time and didn't make it a priority. We need a TV in the bike room, the iMac shows DVDs but for live shows it would be nice to kill 2 birds with one stone. No excuses, bottom line is that I"m lazy. I ate dinner wicked late [like Top Chef late], due to shopping. Quite a successful shopping trip though, nothing exciting but plenty of good bargains for my home.
Beyond that, it's Thursday - finally - I thought yesterday was Thursday until about 1 pm, that was really sad... Heading out early for an appt and then Wii-Fit and The Office! Said-appointment is for completing our re-fi tonight! Signing my life away again..but it should save us about $160 a month and is only costing us the lawyer since we closed so recently, so like $1200 which means it's paid itself off in 8 months! Very exciting. I was apprehensive of more paperwork and apprehensive that things will go completely in the shitter, but if rates do go down to like 3 or 4, we can always refinance again. Fingers crossed, when all is said and done, our mortgage will be down to a grand...

"Wintry Mix", my ass
How do I forget how much I hate winter EVERY YEAR?
Barf. I am working from home today, one small plus. Drove Darling to work, the roads weren't so bad, but they will be brutal once the temperature drops. Snow is annoying but ice is scary. And I love the Corolla but the brakes do some weird lock up thing in crappy weather, I think it's a safety feature but it makes a horrible noise and I feel like I have no control over the car for 5 seconds. Fun!
So last night I had my pizza and 3 beers, and the Atomic Dragonhearts prevailed and won! Take that, 2009. It was a good night, the snow held off until I was alseep. I also had a tea and 2 2-bite brownies and 2 bites of Ed's butter/garlic/parmesean bagel upon returning home. Not very exciting.
Today I had my bagel and tea, I'm planning on a banana shortly and some water. No exercise yet, I will do the bike at lunch if time allows. I did shovel slushy/rainy/wet snow today, but that was like 8 minutes total and sucked but didn't really work me out. Planning to go to the Kushi's for supper later, popping into Lyndell's [for the first time ever] to grab some dessert for that. It will be nice, as long as they have power - and I remember my GPS and do not crash into a guardrail while driving.
Also, and totally separately: the older I get the more I am turning into a nostalgic pansy [totally inherited from my dad who is Chevy Chase incarnate]. When a 15 year old gives me excellent customer service at the Somerville Target, I nearly tear up. There are so many people, and so many sucky and selfish and nasty things that go on that when something is simple and good, it is unexpected. I am going to try and recognize these moments for reflection when I am having a craptacular week.
Today's shout-out is for LeSportSac in Tennessee. I emailed them about a half hour ago asking about a a baby bag style they used to carry. Side note/back story: after a brief hiatus, I'm now back in one of those phases where my life is boring [minus the house, but the house is expensive and unfurnished and not really joyous - yet] but everyone I talk to is either newly engaged or newly married or newly pregnant or newly parents - or conversely, there is some scary health issue in the family....serious shit. This must be what 30s feel like?
Anyhow, I just got back a personal email with the info I needed and more...God bless the personal touch! It was nice, made me smile. This economy and such really sucks but I am hoping one positive may be that people and businesses re-focus on service and local networks and resources and just get back to the basics that were the fundamentals of our country that seem to be lost lately. I sound like a total dirty hippy / old white man, maybe my brain is frozen. Back to work...

Is it Friday yet?
I'm seriously over this whole week of work concept. It's Tuesday, I feel like I've been sitting at a screen of nothing for like 7 years....I sit A LOT in my personal life but there is something about having to do it, in a cube, for the man, during certain hours, in front of a lame [and SLOW] laptop for no real purpose that makes it such a life-suck. A paycheck is a good thing nowadays, I should be counting my blessings.
Instead I'm counting calories- wocka, wocka! Today I actually did get up at 5:30 and do 45 minutes of Wii Fit before work: yoga, stretching, 2 faux jogs, hula hooping [my obliques seriously hurt], some balance stuff. Still getting fatter according to the chart and the measurements, but whatevs, it's day 3, if I haven't lost a pound by Saturday I'll regroup.
I then had an orange to fend off LBS and dropped Darling at work. Got to my office in WF at like 8:30...acck. So I had my bagel with my butter and cream cheese...cream cheese was like half frozen, how can we make million dollar routers that do amazing things and not manage our break room fridge temp properly? Had some tea, had GROSS salad bar salad for lunch, with a diet Sunkist [? not sure what's going on there, it inspired me]. Then had a yogurt for a snack. I am starving. I got home around 5 and inhaled some edamame and I'm still hungry. I am staying strong - trivia tonight and that means pizza and booze! Never giving that up, I don't care if I have to run 10 miles a day.
Hmm, what else...last night I did have my 100 calorie bag of popcorn [after burning attempt A...Julia Child, I'm not]. I then had the frosting mousse off of the last of my dad's Yule Log dessert. That thing is so good as a whole, and the mousse is one of my favorite things ever. So probably like 2 bites of that, and then 2 2 bite brownies and some tea. A bit of water...I need to drink more water, that is a resolution.
In other news, I'm slightly irritated this evening. Not sure if it's lack of sleep or work or the GIANT WHITE PICK UP TRUCK that lives next door that sounds like the frigging train when it comes and goes. I do love my neighborhood, I do. But I do not get why you need a massive [like hummer-sized] truck in Medford. There are no farms, nothing to tow or carry giant amounts of...I do not get it. I'm also watching a repeat of Real Housewives. This show is so vile and yet I cannot help but watch it. They are in a limo in Sonoma at Grgrich [splg?] and I am so frigging jealous right now
Now these bitches' daughters are getting $600 ratty hair extensions. Where did I go wrong in the disposable income department? I'm happy and healthy. Happy and Healthy. Happy and Healthy.

Slacker McGee
Story of my life lately. Not really- I am a HOMEOWNER. Holy crap! Hasn't really hit me yet but 55 Orchard Street in Meffa is mine all mine!! Well, with Darling but whatever, we share well. So far so good, we are overwhelmed and have been cleaning and painting and learning exactly how much one can spend at Home Depot in a weekend. Awesome.
I haven't moved an inch, and I've been eating terribly. Last week we had our team meetings and then the whole house thing and Halloween. We shall see, I need to get it together.
So I'm sitting at trivia now watching the election results. I am so nervous for the next 4 years. I will hope for the best but if my taxes go up the wazoo, I'm blaming a lot of my close friends and co-workers. I wrote in Ron Paul and yes'd everything, as expected. My fingers are crossed for a better future than what my gut feels will likely happen. I will not bore everyone with my theories that the world is going to hell in a handbasket.

That's what I'll attempt to do right now. It's been a busy week, work is nuts, the house is exhausting, it's started to get cold. Bleechhhh.
Sunday: Sox lost, c'est la vie. No wine, I was good.
No running all week....wahhh-wahhhh
Monday: WFH, 2 eggs and some toast and tea
More pumpkin ice cream. Ed ate the chipwich I bought, seriously?
Tuesday: WF, 2 eggs for breakfast and toast, I think? Tea.
Salad and bread and butter for lunch. Salad was gross.
Trivia had 3 Raspberry UFOs and 4/5ths of my pizza.
I miss my sister at trivia, she's been lost to suburbia.
Wednesday: Dentist for a filling, had a banana before, giant DD tea after.
Couldn't eat until like 2, had a HEC on a finagle everything and a diet coke. YUM.
Camrbidge in the afternoon, I think I had a yogurt?
Did an hour on the bike during ANTM and my arms.
Arms were harder than before, you really need to keep up on exercise.
Rice for dinner. Made some butter micro popcorn too for TV.
Thursday:
Westford. I don't remember breakfast, cereal or eggs. Tea.
Grilled cheese and tomato with chips for lunch, and a DDP.
Had an apple on the ride home. Ed made chicken and rice for dinner.
Had 2 of my hidden Tahiti cookies for dessert. They are bomb, excellent new discovery.
Must keep them hidden in the guest bedroom from princess, at all costs.
Friday:
Finagle Everything with butter and cream cheese. Which they totally over charged me for but which I took as a lesson to a. not eat these as often and b. buy my own goddamn bagels, butter and cream cheese. I will be a homeowner in 6 days and I need to get a hold of my finances. I hate that I don't speak up for myself in situations like that, instead I quickly talk myself into deciding it's a tip and Finagle needs the money more than I do. Good god, horrible logic. Had a tea, and a LC panini for lunch [chicken pesto - gross] with PS seltzer. We had our earnings announcement meeting in the afternoon, had 2 teeny glasses of wine, a couple mini pastries, half a roast beef sandwich and a roll and butter. Booze = instant carb cravings for me, wtf?
Went out for dinner last night with Erin and Carolyn and Erin's sis Laura. Hit up Tacquiera La Mexicana, it was ok. The pear sangria was delicious, the beef burrito, ehh. Chips and salsa, always good. I don't think they liked it as much as Darling and I do, but I also feel the quality last night was not as awesome as it usually is. And they kept leaving the door open [it's almost November!!] and a bad band was setting up. So much for ambiance. Came home, gave Ed the rest of my burro [it was huge] and we each had 2 double choco mint Milanos [also hidden].
Today so far, woke up at 10:30 [YES] and Princess had already gone to Shaws and then made blueberry pancakes, eggs and ham and a bowl of fresh strawberries. I am lucky. I will have some tea now and then I think we're going paint color picking. ACCCKKKK.
Sunday: Sox lost, c'est la vie. No wine, I was good.
No running all week....wahhh-wahhhh
Monday: WFH, 2 eggs and some toast and tea
More pumpkin ice cream. Ed ate the chipwich I bought, seriously?
Tuesday: WF, 2 eggs for breakfast and toast, I think? Tea.
Salad and bread and butter for lunch. Salad was gross.
Trivia had 3 Raspberry UFOs and 4/5ths of my pizza.
I miss my sister at trivia, she's been lost to suburbia.
Wednesday: Dentist for a filling, had a banana before, giant DD tea after.
Couldn't eat until like 2, had a HEC on a finagle everything and a diet coke. YUM.
Camrbidge in the afternoon, I think I had a yogurt?
Did an hour on the bike during ANTM and my arms.
Arms were harder than before, you really need to keep up on exercise.
Rice for dinner. Made some butter micro popcorn too for TV.
Thursday:
Westford. I don't remember breakfast, cereal or eggs. Tea.
Grilled cheese and tomato with chips for lunch, and a DDP.
Had an apple on the ride home. Ed made chicken and rice for dinner.
Had 2 of my hidden Tahiti cookies for dessert. They are bomb, excellent new discovery.
Must keep them hidden in the guest bedroom from princess, at all costs.
Friday:
Finagle Everything with butter and cream cheese. Which they totally over charged me for but which I took as a lesson to a. not eat these as often and b. buy my own goddamn bagels, butter and cream cheese. I will be a homeowner in 6 days and I need to get a hold of my finances. I hate that I don't speak up for myself in situations like that, instead I quickly talk myself into deciding it's a tip and Finagle needs the money more than I do. Good god, horrible logic. Had a tea, and a LC panini for lunch [chicken pesto - gross] with PS seltzer. We had our earnings announcement meeting in the afternoon, had 2 teeny glasses of wine, a couple mini pastries, half a roast beef sandwich and a roll and butter. Booze = instant carb cravings for me, wtf?
Went out for dinner last night with Erin and Carolyn and Erin's sis Laura. Hit up Tacquiera La Mexicana, it was ok. The pear sangria was delicious, the beef burrito, ehh. Chips and salsa, always good. I don't think they liked it as much as Darling and I do, but I also feel the quality last night was not as awesome as it usually is. And they kept leaving the door open [it's almost November!!] and a bad band was setting up. So much for ambiance. Came home, gave Ed the rest of my burro [it was huge] and we each had 2 double choco mint Milanos [also hidden].

Inner Turmoil at BK
Referring to my lunch today, I'm in Cambridge and hit up the food court. Ultimately decided on BK, vacillated between the salad and the Whopper for like a good 5 minutes in line. Went with the salad! Good for me. Is salad still good for you if it comes from BK? I know I shouldn't have my ranch and my chicken and my croutons on it....but it's still salad. And compared to a Whopper or the entire pizza I'd like to consume, I think I'm ok.
Ok, so started this on Tuesday, finishing on Wednesday. What is it about the short weeks that makes the freaks come out? Associates that I hadn't heard from in weeks emailed me out of the woodwork this week. Fun times. Anyhow, I'm tired and can't look exhausted at the wedding so here we go:

It’s been a while
Totally normal, frequently used expression ruined by a stupid Staind song. Nothing against Staind, they are entertaining on Howard, but that music sucks. Plus it’s super depressing.
So yeah, I haven’t written since midday Sunday I guess? I will have to do this in stages. Can’t wait! Sunday afternoon progressed with 40? minutes on the bike and my arm exercises. Went to my parents, had some of those chocolate-covered pretzels from Trader Joes? They are friggin delicious like amazing delicious. Went out and ran some errands [washed my car instead of spending money at Old Navy, this must be what being responsible feels like], came back and it was still and hour until dinner so I had a banana and some more pretzels. I probably had 10 total, it’s amazing what makes me feel guilty when I’m trying to be healthy.
For dinner we had steak, potato, asparagus, some wine, more pretzels. Got home and while I don’t remember this, my notes [such a nerd] indicate I then ate a pickle, had a beer[?], a piece of garlic bread [stole 1 slice from Ed’s parents so I wouldn’t buy a whole loaf], tomato, basil and mozzarella with oil and vinegar and half a Skor bar. Jesus, I’m impressive when it’s in print. No exercise, minus washing the car, which is harder than you think. Especially with the amount of bird shit that had accumulated on my poor Corolla.
Monday I oddly can’t remember…I worked from home…oh wait, I went to the baseball game! Ok, so I didn’t have breakfast, had a Lean Cuisine for lunch and then: a kosher hot dog, 2 Coronas, a few peanut M&Ms, a few Twizzlers, some Cracker Jacks and a pretzel. And some DD Hot Chocolate, had Monster SRO tickets, which were awesome, but it was coooold. And they lost. Ok game though and got to see my wonderful old boss which is always nice.
It’s end of the quarter so I’m stressed and therefore eating horribly/erratically… Tuesday I had raisin bran with soy milk, a yogurt and a banana. Walked our running route with Erin [we were lazy and angry]. Went to trivia. WON trivia, #1, so awesome. Had my 2 Erdingers and my pizza, at the whole thing minus 1 slice. Making up for the rest of the day I’m guessing.

Caveat: I've just discovered Erbinger Octoberweiss
And I'm not even sure if I spelled that right but I do know that I just sucked down two giant steins of this and I LOOOOVED it.
Today was ok- hectic work-wise, everyone wanted everything, and like yesterday. And I can only do so much, but I hate the nagging feeling of letting people down. Whatever. I WFH'd today and therefore had no breakfast. I snuck a lunch of pasta with Earth Balance, mozzarella, tomatoes and some seasonings on it, with a side of mini WW pita garlic bread. I then had a raspberry LF TJ's yogurt for an afternoon snack.
Erin and I went running and regardless of the pasta-carb load, I had no energy. Then I went to trivia [3rd place, bitches] and had my pizza. My harpoon raspberry has been EOL'd for the summer [although my lovely waitress aid they may get bottles soon - woo hoo!] so I tried this Erbinger based on her recommendation and for a beer, it was pretty awesome. 2 of our other trivia buddies has switched to it based on my referral by the end of the night.
That's all for now, my eyes are closing. Planning to jog tomorrow too, pre-ANTM. I'm going to sleep and check this for typos in the morning. Buenos Noches.

Trivia Tuesday
While I loathe Mondays, I luuurve Tuesdays. Not because I get assaulted at work with all the emails a. from people who were out/shunning me Friday and/or Monday and b. from people who weren't out but should've sent them prior to 4 pm today so I could actually help them, and didn't. Thank god my mom doesn't read this blog because that last sentence was a grammar nightmare. I'm also noticing it's difficulty to type. You know why? Because it's TRIVIA TUESDAY which means I'm 2.5 sheets to the wind.
I go to trivia at Olde Magoun's on the Somerville/Meffa border each Tuesday with a revolving cast of characters. I was originally recruited by my colleague/friend Andy who went with his friend Matt. They were really good except for the fashion/beauty/pop culture/celebrity divorce questions -AKA the Pink Pie in Trivial Pursuit. This is where I came in. What I lack in useful knowledge about science or geography, I make up for in knowing Halle Berry's first husband's name [former Atlanta Brave David Justice, and he hit her - allegedly].
We worked as a team of 3 for a while and I invited my sister and she is wayyy more popular than I am so she actually came WITH PEOPLE. Andy has since had a baby and Matt's job is nuts and he's getting married [grown-ups], so they don't attend so often anymore but generally each week it's myself, maybe Caroline, her friend Martin almost always, and her other friends Paul, Mike and Jay come in as they can. They do Improv Practice on Tuesday which is awesome but I'm sad it conflicts with our big night. Sometimes C's delightful boyfriend Brian even joins us, all the way from the NH. That is a trooper move, if anyone asked me to go to something in NH on a Tuesday night and drive back and go to work the next morning I'd show them to the nearest bridge and then push them off.
Anyhow, I love trivia. The host is great, the bar is great, the questions are never too easy. I even wrote a glorifying Yelp review about it -which the host now totally knows about, scoring us brownie points. Some a-hole out of towner called him a Douche on Yelp, and he is so not a douche, I had to defend him. Fun times all around, I genuinely look forward to it and enjoy myself even if we place a miserable 15th or whatever we did tonight. We lost it in the 4th round...anyone ever heard of Mr Bill? Apparently some old SNL skit with a key nemesis. Sue us for not knowing the nemesis' name. I'm already excited for next week though, this is the beauty of it.
Part of the highlight of Trivia night is that I get to be excessive food and beverage-wise. The scale indicated I lost like 4 lbs this morning and I guarantee I just put it all back on in the past 3 hours. I have 98% of an entire margarita pizza [they make it Napoleon style on a BED OF LIGHTLY SPRINKLED SEA SALT, can you really blame me?] and 3 beers on average. This was tonight's menu, a whole pizza, a Raspberry UFO and 2 Sea Dog Blueberries. For those of you with little to no deduction skills, I don't like beer unless it's fruity. I also had a bite of Martin's Fireside Dip which is an item I would order again in a heart beat. As Rachel Ray would say, YUM-O.
So yeah, beyond that: Sox ate it at the last minute, booo. Had cereal per usual, a banana, some tea. A grilled cheese and tomato and veggie soup with a Snapple Diet IT for lunch [Westford again...groan]. I had a pounding headache by the time I got to the bar, but I washed down two Advils with my first beer [note to kids: don't do this]. No exercise, just the walk to the bar [such a sad sentence]. I meant to get up early and slept through my alarm, again [thanks Ed]. Had another lovely night of up at 3 with neurosis and back to bed at 4. Awesome. The I was at work from 8:45 until 7:20. Not recommended either. Hopefully it pays off.
Speaking of paying off, the house is whatever; I'm so over this process. I feel like we're behaving so reasonably and being accommodating. To be honest, I'm acting with a tenth of the insanity, vigor and obstinacy with which I'd want to act if left to my own devices [thanks to the advice of Darling and other parties]. These people are difficult. Let's hope it's worth it, otherwise, I'm hitting the road STAT. It makes me sad to think of but sometimes enough is a enough. Offer was accepted but I'd say due to other circumstances, it's a 30/70 shot, 70 being we don't wind up living there. Not to be Pissy Sally but that's how I feel right now with all of that.
