I've never uttered these words, I actually hate dirty hippies. However, tonight I would've made my parents [clean dirty hippies in their own right....activists they would say] proud by walking to a town meeting, looking at maps, reading leaflets, listening to my community for 2.5 hours and then walking back home and using my reusable grocery bag at Whole Foods to pick up a few organic whatevers on my way back to the homestead. I love my town! Or city, we're a city. Seriously, as annoying as some of those people were, it was really great being there and seeing people care and talk and voice their opinions and interact. There had to be 300 people, I would think the Green Line would be a no-brainer but apparently there is LOTS of controversy.
Controversy, schmontroversy, I'm siked. I could care less about the pollution as long as it's not excessive [I live it a city, part of that is that it's dirtier here than the country - deal with it]. The commuter rail is already loud, I've learned to live with it. I do not need a parking garage considering I can walk to 2 of the stops. And by the time I'm 40 I will have a 15 minute ride into the city and never have to deal with parking. I am excited. And hello property values. Again, I'll believe it when I see it [and if those m-fers try to come in and take some of my yard, I'll go crazy...but I can't see how they would, geographically?], but it's nice to be at the start of something and I feel like we are. Everyday I feel better and better about our decision to get this place, not that I had remorse or regret upon buying, but I would say I was just scared. If you fuck up buying a house, you are kind of screwed. Anxiety and my brain are like moth to the flame up in my head. So yeah, I keep hugging Ed and telling him how happy I am that we made a good choice and that I think we made the right decision and it's wonderful. He is like "Umm, yeah that's why we bought it and moved in 6 months ago" and per usual, thinks I'm totally weird.
Anyhow, so that was my night. Worked from home today to not have to deal with the Wintry Mix. Barf. It was a blessing as the gas guy came by and needed to get in the basement [I'm still convinced it was some kind of set-up; I am my mother's daughter] AND warned me that after 7 am tomorrow, we will not be able to get out of our driveway and we should park up the street. So fingers crossed that our car is still there in the AM [and un-tampered: lots of car horror stories lately]. I will get a permit this week, I have slacked on that but I blame the RMV and their confusing registration policy.
Ok, so had some oatmeal with bananas and syrup for breakfast. Had some tea and some juice. For lunch, I had 2 thin slices of the WPF bread with butter and cream cheese. However, wayyy less B & CC than I usually use. So yay. Then I had a yogurt and more tea. I think that was all, my memory is shot. Oh wait, I tried to have cup of soup but it was gnarly [too much water and then I'd tried to bolster the pasta quotient].
I ran 4 Wii-miles and showered and went to my meeting. Had some sushi from WF after, and some strawberries [so good, so worth the $4 - it's like spring in my mouth] with splenda. A vodka juice cocktail, light on the vodka...Intervention always inspires me to drink. Maybe to remind myself that unlike the poor souls on TV, I can stop after 1? I am beyond thankful for that, everyday, I cannot imagine being an addict, it's got to be exhausting and sucktacular. Anyhow, just had some crusty french bread with butter [fresh baked at WF...yummm] and some mozzarella, tomatoes and OO/vinegar with spices and S&P. So good.
I will be having a couple sandwich cookies too, they were cheap and looked delish. It's like 11:30 now though, I need to knock off the late eating. In fairness, it feels like 10:30. Which means I need to go to bed. I hate DST, seriously. When it gets warm it will be better, right?

Back to Being The Laziest Blogger Alive
Slack City, USA
Tuesday night: Had my pizza and 3 beers. We SUCKED at trivia, it was just Martin and myself and in fairness, the questions were hard and it was more that our wagering was way off. Alas.
Wednesday: Bagel with earth balance, some tea. Busted into the Reeses early, had 2. Went to Chillis and had queso and a buffalo chicken salad with 2 DCs. Gross, well the queso was good but the salad...not so much. Went to an energy saving seminar after work, had 2 slices of pizza and some water. Came home, had a yogurt and some sushi from WF. No exercise today either. Had some Werther's, those are becoming a problem.
Thursday: Ate nothing until like 1, then a banana and some DD tea. Made myself a HEC on an everything, very good. Had some yogurt and some juice/water. Ate an apple for a snack. Ed came home and whipped up some noodles with beef from the slow cooker. Then I just had some tea and some of those chocolate butter biscuit cookies and a Fiber 1 bar. That's where I am now. Kind of blah, ready for Friday.
We are going to Chez Henri tomorrow for our 5 year anniversary! Holy Crap. Feels like a decade. Just kidding, I really can't believe it's been so goddamn long. Very excited for good food and warmer temps! I need a weekend stat...and a vacation.
I am so lazy that I wrote all of this last night and didn't even post it so here is a quick follow up for Friday thus far. Wrote myself a post-it last night to wake up, run, do my arms, pack a lunch. Yeah... Snoozed twice, took a shower, barely made it out of the house by 9 [not that I'm on a tight schedule but it's Friday bitches, I want to get shizz done]. Had my HEC from finagle, consistently delicious. Had some tea, had some seltzer. Had a packet of oatmeal with a banana for lunch [I'm gorging tonight] and just had a Werther's. I'm running OUTSIDE tomorrow, mark my words. Now off to 50 degrees and my lovely boyfriend at Chez Henri. And I re-ordered good cable, I'm so typical.

"No way"
That was my sentiment this morning at Target [yes, I popped in before work. And yes, it's the 3rd time I've been in less than 48 hours - I have issues] when I found a pair of pants one size up from my current [Wii-overweight] waistline. I was hoping to buy something that would fit with long underwear under it [it's 11 degrees out] and have the bonus of being a *little* more comfy while I'm still fat. However, when it came to actually making the decision to purchase, I said "No Way". As in, "No Way would I even come close to filling those...right?", "No Way I've let myself get THAT much bigger", "No Way, how did I wander into the tent section?" Needless to say, there was no way I could actually buy pants that big. So, "No way" will become my new mantra. Even without the "way", if I could just start saying NO to food I'd be so much better off...alas.
So I went into a vortex yesterday. Everyone has this idea that you work from home and can get soooo much accomplished but my WFH days are nuts-to-butts filled, I get anxious around 3 because the day is going so fast. I love it, I love being busy, I love not having a second to space out - but it makes things like mindless food-blogging go by the wayside.
I haven't recapped since Tuesday mid-day. Quickly -
Tuesday:
Had that apple and more tea
Lunch was a burrito w/ sc and salsa and some juice/water
I had one of these 100 calorie belgian chocolate bars from TJs [surprisingly delicious!!] and more tea
I did 25 minutes of the Wii Fit - not exactly pushing myself. Why can't I suddenly develop an addictive personality and get addicted to working out? Not like compulsive eating disorder addicted but just kind of jazzed…moment of silence for the first use of jazz as a verb in my blog.
Had my pizza at trivia, 2 of my sister's fries and 4 beers [wow!]
I also had a few bites of their chocolate chip cookies, they were actually pretty decent.
Wednesday:
My bagel with butter and CC
Tea
Gross WF Ravioli from a can. Not as gross as you'd think, but not good.
More Tea
Some juice
100 calorie chocolate
More Tea
Pizza [again! This might be a another diet secret...eliminate pizza]
More juice
A pickle
1 Reeses cup and more tea…in bed while reading Artie's book IN MY HOUSE…that was a great feeling!!
No moving at all... I had intentions and then just ran out of time and didn't make it a priority. We need a TV in the bike room, the iMac shows DVDs but for live shows it would be nice to kill 2 birds with one stone. No excuses, bottom line is that I"m lazy. I ate dinner wicked late [like Top Chef late], due to shopping. Quite a successful shopping trip though, nothing exciting but plenty of good bargains for my home.
Beyond that, it's Thursday - finally - I thought yesterday was Thursday until about 1 pm, that was really sad... Heading out early for an appt and then Wii-Fit and The Office! Said-appointment is for completing our re-fi tonight! Signing my life away again..but it should save us about $160 a month and is only costing us the lawyer since we closed so recently, so like $1200 which means it's paid itself off in 8 months! Very exciting. I was apprehensive of more paperwork and apprehensive that things will go completely in the shitter, but if rates do go down to like 3 or 4, we can always refinance again. Fingers crossed, when all is said and done, our mortgage will be down to a grand...

I'm changing my name to Lazy Gaudet
Even weekends that I'm snowed in and have diddly to do I get little-to-nothing accomplished. I did nothing this weekend, no touching up, no curtains, no deep-scrubbing of my bathroom. Laundry and some dishes and snow maintenance. I could have blogged 19 times but I just get sucked into a lethargy pit. Part of this can be blamed on The Wire which I am re-watching from the start. It is soooo good, but the episodes are an hour and even though I've seen it I still find myself paying keen attention. It's a part-time job - my weekend job, apparently.
Let's see, yesterday I had an apple for the afternoon and did 14 miles on the bike [53 minutes] AND my arm exercises, impressive for a day of rest. My current exercise DVDs are "It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia", it's pretty decent and comes in half-hour increments which is good for working out. I then had another of Ed's cookies. He came home and made us pasta his boss brought back from Italy, simple little shell things with my dad's sauce. It was ok. I wanted garlic bread but he brought home WPF Oat and Honey which I was skeptical of for that purpose.
I went to Target and came back and had some anyway, it was decent. I was ravenous by that point for whatever reason [so hungry lately - either due to exercise or due to less calories or maybe some kind of cruel placebo effect] and so in addition to my bread I also had some ramen that I bought at Target [total rip-off 97 cents and same portion as the 20 centers - just in its own box think and nuke-able]. Followed up with some more tea and half a bottle of Boone's, and the another cookie. Considering I sat on my ass and watched TV for 5 hours [Ed went to a party and I started Season 1 and an episode of Bad Girls Club - sooo trashy!], that is NOT eating a lot for me. On the bad side, I went to bed at like 4 am. TV will be the end of me.
Today, I slept until 11:30, got up, had a banana, and shoveled for an hour while Princess slept [he got in at like 5:30 - I am so nice] and then came in and did my arm exercises. I measured my stuff on the Wii Fit [still fat, still gaining - though in very tiny increments] and got ready for my afternoon. Ed made me a bagel and butter and cream cheese and I had some gatorade, ghetto late breakfast but whatever works.
Went to the NB outlet and CVS and my parents' house for supper. Had a glass of red wine, some cranberry juice and seltzer, lasagna, some parmesean encrusted chicken, and broccoli. Had some peppermint tea and one mint-choco cookie for dessert. Went to Trader Joe's and now I am home. Just had some tea and 2 more pieces of garlic toast that my dad sent home in my care package for the week. I am still hungry and watching TV so I am trying my hardest to resist... Tired for now, will try and wake up early tomorrow to exercise, maybe? I could work out after work as well. I wish I could work from home everyday. Or win the lottery, either would work.

I totally thought I'd be the coolest 29 year-old ever
Instead it's 11:47 on a Friday and I'm blogging. Blogging about food and the Wii. And watching several episodes of Bad Girls Club OnDemand. And I just posted a YouTube video to Facebook. Yep.
Before I forget, I had an apple yesterday and did 56 minutes of the Wii Fit before bed [woo hoo!]. I was impressed with myself. The Wii Fit is fun and it gives you shit if you skip a day which is awesome. I'm still overweight, and I've gained like 3 pounds this year, whatever.
Today I slept through my work-out alarm [I wanted to do the bike for an hour to a Big Love episode] and went into Cambridge. Grabbed some Dunkies on the way, HEC on an everything bagel with a tea. Had a Fettucine LC and Diet Coke for lunch, and then a Reese's and tea for an afternoon snack instead of my yogurt [bad!]. I went for a beer with Andy and his wife and their adorable baby! Had half an old clementine while I was there, it was gross.
Went to the mall, got home a bit before 8 and had some Triscuits and cream cheese to help with my low blood sugar. I really wanted a loaf of garlic bread and a large Papa Gino's cheese pizza when I got home [1 beer and I'm ravenous] but instead I did 80 minutes of the Wii Fit [including a 12 minute faux-run, go me].

I really like when it tells me I am a fantastic runner, I confirm it out-loud each time. Ed asked me last night if I talk to it every time I work out, which I also confirmed. I am my father's daughter.
I then had a salad of baby spinach, tomatoes and mozzarella and Newman's Balsalmic - at like 10:45, bad. Then a yogurt, a little bit of garlic toast [Ed seriously ate like 98% a giant long baguette and left me a crust...such an asshole] and 3 2-bit brownies with some tea. I had some seltzer lemonade as well. That $3.69 Santa Cruz lemonade from Whole Foods is sooo good, too bad it's sooo expensive.
I'm starting to cough so I'm off to bed, super-siked to sleep late tomorrow. I have absolutely nothing to do...nothing! I need to get my life in order, or else it's going to be March and I'll be saying the same thing.

Kitty Litter
Salt [for your stairs] is really expensive, and the animal lover in me likes to get that Paw Safe crap that is EVEN MORE expensive. So I decided to cut corners and get a $5 thing of kitty litter - safe for animals and way cheaper. I've discovered that once the snow melts, it turns the litter into this mushy gray paste that gets everywhere- like ruin your floor everywhere. I've become a take off your shoes nazi as a result. Not good.
Today's Annoyance has been brought to you by....I should have resolved to not bitch in 2009. So yesterday I did not really exercise, I considered shoveling and laundry to be my cardio for the day. Will be back in the saddle today, going to try the bike but last time I swear it bruised my ass, I am so out of shape. Or maybe I had the seat up too high.
Had the last of Harry's delicious cinnamon raisin bread for "lunch" as toast, and some more tea. Ate a banana on the way to Hudson. I stopped at Lyndell's to get cupcakes and was so good, I ordered nothing for myself....I realized I pretty much ate bread all day and needed to get a hold of myself. Bread is my down-fall. I love it. I love bagels and rolls and crusty bread and baguettes and Wonder bread and bread sticks and WPF and Iggy's and croissants.
Had wonderful chicken and veggies curry over spinach noodles and a salad, it was from the Wagamama cook book and quite delicious! Hilary can cook. She made a blondie/giant cookie thing I had a few pieces of with vanilla ice cream and tea for dessert. And 2 glasses of white wine. A nice night of catching up, their kids are so good and getting HUGE and loquacious. Too funny.
Driving home was sketchy, the snow turned to rain and turned to sludge and then froze! Awesome. Plus I was on wacky back roads, that turned and had like 30 mph speed limits. Not a fun time, I got home wicked late and was so tired this morning WFH again today, had my bagel and tea..about to eat lunch. Work is picking up a bit, it's a good thing. Kind of boring post, sorry.

I Hate Mohawks
Seriously: THE DEVIL RAYS. The bleeping Devil Rays!! I'm referring to them as Tampon Bay from here on out, aqua and gray are the new pinstripes. Whatever.
Last night late [bad!] I had some garlic naan with butter and a cup of rice with soy sauce, my new snack. I think that was all...
Today I WFH'd, pretty busy! Had a banana and some tea early on, then 2 fried eggs and some WPF toast for midday lunch/brunch-whatever. I made a way-too-big caprese for an afternoon snack and followed that with some chocolate covered pretzels. Am I gross? I might be. I love food. Even if it makes me feel sick. I felt sick on the way to bed last night, kind of this afternoon, a little bit now. Yet I continue to eat.
I just had a TJ veggie burrito bathed in sour cream and salsa verde. I will be having a cup of rice tonight as well [Ed makes a pot for dinner most nights and doesn't eat all of it so it sits rotting over night - I'm like a human disposal] and a glass of Rieseling THANKS TO THE FUCKING RAYS*. I turned it off, I'm a pox this year and hope by not watching, maybe we'll turn it around. I still have faith, though I recognize that the score could easily be 94-1 right now. Maybe we need to be shoved in a corner to actually hit, run, pitch, win....the Rays. They're killing me, 10 years old, stupid mohawks, the manager's creepy glasses. And at our park. Tampon Bay Bastards.
* One might note a correlation between my horrible attitude and the fact that I haven't exercised in like forever. It's been a lazy week and weekend. Erin and I have a jog date tomorrow pre-trivia. T is Wednesday this week due to tonight's comeback. That's right, comeback.

monday monDAY MONDAY!!
God I hate Mondays. In general, but especially after a wedding weekend. I love weddings, I would be a big proponent for a wedding every weekend if possible. Not that I would want to have that many friends or family nor be able to spend that much money on gifts and outfits, but the theory is nice.
Ooh, addendum to last night: I got home and had some tomato, mozzarella and basil with oo and white basalmic vinegar and spices. Then I had a giant slab of toast and then a bowl of TJ's Flakes and Chocolate cereal with soy milk. The latter sounds better than it is...I had a banana on it to try and improve it...THAT's where the banana comes in! Good call. So I was apparently hungry late-night on Sunday, sue me. Had some riesling too.
Anyhow, this will be brief because I'm starving and the Sox game SUCKED. Had some Shredded Spoonfuls and soy milk to start, a tea when I got to work, a banana mid-morning. More tea. Headed home to WFH because I had Sox tickets [Mom bailed, so sister and I attended] for the afternoon. 2 TJ quesadillas with sour cream and salsa for lunch, a [generous] handful of chocolate covered pretzels for a snack. An apple on my ride home too, forgot about that. Went into town for the game, had 2 beers and a hot dog, handful of Cracker Jacks.
Everyone was out of pretzels and fried dough is 5.50....maybe it's always been but I find that outrageous. Grabbed a grape G2 on the way home. We lost 9-1. People were leaving in the 5th inning of a playoff game. Sucked.

Nice Day for a Purple and Yellow Wedding
So Friday started with a late-ish wake up, 9 maybe? Ed and Keith went to the gym, I discovered Queen Bee on MTV. OMG, if anyone needs reason to think there is no hope for future generations, check out that program. Such brats, they were impressively awful and I'm quite accustomed to that kind of behavior.
Headed into their little town for an everything bagel with butter and cream cheese and some tea, a Cherry Zero Coke too. Had a banana and some mini Reeses and Kisses throughout the day to snack. Ran some errands and tried to help Keith out as best we could, checked into the hotel at 3. Hotel is a stretch actually. It was fine, let's just say I am not an inn/B&B person, we'll leave it at that. There were sheep grazing in the yard. I am not a farm person either.
Wedding was awesome, really really beautiful and sweet and earnest and well-planned and thoughtful and gorgeous. Most importantly, they both seemed to have a genuinely superb times, and that is what matters. I won't babble personal details of my BFF's wedding on the Interwebs, but everyone there had a 100% blast. As a taste, the last song they played for the night was Scenario. It doesn't get much better than that.
The service was 9 minutes long [awesome] and followed by drinks and apps. I had a couple Tanqs and tonics [is it bad that I kind of love gin? does that make me a holic? Princess recoils at gin and he is way more of a drunk than I am....hmm] and some mozzarella and tomatoes and prosciutto and melon. So good. Dinner was awesome, filet with asparagus and potatoes in a mushroom sauce. Had a roll with butter, some white wine, some red wine, another Tanq and tonic. Danced the night away, had some cake....soooo good, like a berry shortcake/sponge cake/angel cake thing? Whipped cream, layers of white cake and strawberries, raspberries and blueberries. So good. More candy from the favors too, of course. Not sure if there's ever been a scenario in my life that I've rejected candy when placed in front of me.
That was that, we wound up at the bar, caught the end of the Sox game [Ed and I acted like assholes, of course], made a bet with Keith's wonderful dad about the Phillies-Sox World Series that is hopefully coming down the road. Headed over to another bar for a nightcap and some pizza. I surprisingly refrained from the pizza and stuck to a DC since it was late and I was driving and had sobered up a good while ago. Headed back to Sheepville and for some sleep.

Blast from the Past
So acck, my last post was Wednesday [even though it's dated Tuesday...confusing Blogger quirk, I think...right now it's Monday night but I bet this will continue to say Sunday. It's like back to the future!], let's think.
So, Wednesday night, definitely did not do my arms, did dye my hair. Slept until the glorious hour of 9:30 the following morning, ran around all day with plans to leave at 4 to head to NJ/PA. I had a yogurt and an apple for breakfast, a Finagle Everything with butter and cream cheese for lunch [with a DC]. Went to Target and did some laundry, tried to iron with my mom. My lack of domestic skills continually impress me, it was hysterical. Packed up, was ready to leave at 4:15, Princess was late and we left a bit before 5.
Got some McD's at a terrifying rest stop in Connecticut or NT state, not to sound like a snob but they're all the same. Had my typical [I need to get back in a once a season fast food pattern, way too much lately] Cheeseburger Happy meal [girl toy] with additional cheeseburger on the side and a DC. Continued on our way, made it there around 10? Not so bad.
Met Keith and friends Sonny and Lynn from CA out and about in New Hope. Had some bread and a couple glasses of Riesling. Bar-hopped and switched to DC but had a few sips of Lynn's delish grapefruit and Belvidere and my my my, that was pretty damn good. I think Howard Stern is a big fan as well, and I learned today that his favorite beverage is my favorite beverage: cranberry juice watered down with seltzer, so maybe we share taste buds. He is definitely way more disciplined than fatty-me. Anyhow, couple sips of that and we were off.
Hit up Wawa for late-night goodies. That system is awesome to tangent a bit, you go in, pick a bunch of crap on a touch screen, it's easy, intuitive, there are a million options, the food is GOOD. Call me a product of the internet age but the less I have to talk to someone, the better. I'm not alone in this, I have a co-worker who is not a big fan of Papa Johns, but specifically orders their pizza because you can do it online. Kind of sad, kind of awesome. I had some mac and cheese, Darling had some chicken fingers and Kieth got whatever he calls a hoagie. Hoagie to me sounds like something one spits out in the shower. Gross.
Headed back to Keith and Alanna's ADORABLE and way not too tiny home, this was the first time we'd seen it. So cute, wonderful old floors and high enough ceilings and such a great yard and cute neighborhood. I'm super stoked for them. We also met their little kitties that had separate names that I can never remember, I will call them Oggie collectively because both names sounded something like that. They were also adorable, so young and bouncy and full of spriteliness. You can tell Princess has never had a cat because he was like fascinated that they ramble around and pounce on you all night, but they're kittens!! And even though he claims to be allergic, I have a theory that Ed secretly likes cats more than he lets on. Cats sure as hell love him. What is it that makes pets dig people who aren't really animal people? So weird.
Then we woke up the next day to WEDDING DAY!!! So exciting. I should separate my posts now.

Bread For Dinner - Absolute Bliss
So, the game is tied, we put our heat on in the apt [before October 10th? Not a good sign...out soon....hopefully], my world is kind of shaken up right now. However, I was having a lovely evening - BREAD FOR DINNER. But let's start at the very beginning.
Rough morning, made it out of bed on time but it was downhill from there. Had a garlic and Earth Balance WW english muffin and some oatmeal. Wisely made a tea for the ride to WF. Still almost fell asleep like 6 times, it was dangerous. I had the windows down all the way and was singing and still kind of nodding...scary.
WF was WF....ehh. I dragged a lot of ass and showed off my ticket to anyone that I could. Nearly 30 years on the planet and apparently all I have to show for it is that I have turned into "That Guy". Awesome. Lunch was a turkey wrap, the chips, bite of a quickly proven nasty pickle. Cherry Coke Zero. Had several more cups of tea all afternoon. Had a few candy corn, my teeth hate me. Ate an apple on the drive home. Upon arrival, starving....had a piece of WPF with cheese toasted on it, then went back and had a GIANT piece of toast with real butter. Felt so guilty but soooo worth it. Bread and butter, how I love thee. For real, stuck on an island the rest of my life - bread, butter, cheese, apples, tomatoes, wine and chocolate. A couple of baby tigers and my iPhone. Maybe some S&P and spices, a little OO or EVOO as semi-annoying RR says. Mmmm....perfect.
Thought that would be my supper but then Princess made some rice. He is such a good boyfriend, I am lucky to have a cook in the house. Otherwise it would be a very Lean Cuisiney type of life, food wise. I hate cooking. Love food, hate preparation, timing, cooling, etc. With 2 caveats: love decorating cakes, love scooping ice cream. Ate some rice and soy sauce while watching Mad Men reruns and the game. Did I mention Roger Sterling was like 5 feet from us at the game last night? Our only nearby brush of fame. By the time I had enough liquid courage to speak to him, he was kind of a douche.
Seeing famous people is weird, at least for me since I don't live in NY or LA. Something about it makes you care more about people you shouldn't. Like I LOVE Joan H and Don Draper on that show, LOVE. And January Jones is amazing as well. But this was Roger Sterling....a handsome older man, love that kind of boss-dude-arrogant-creep of a character. But still, not in my top 3 or maybe even top 5. I don't blame him but I kind of do....get a private box with your Emmy money. And famous people are supposed to LIKE being famous. It's not like he was in his house and I broke in. Whatever. Plus his companion [son? nephew?] kept cheering by number: "Let's go 1-1" [Kotsay] "Strike em out 5-8" [Pap]. To quote Nick Swarsdon, "What, are you 5?" Did you just learn to count? Sooo bitter. Still L-O-V-E the show, 100%.
Beyond that, I really need to get like a little diet tracking module. I feel like I had one in my old iPhone, maybe I can look it up. I'm eating way too many calories. Not that I work out hard, but I move so much more than ever before and I'm the same weight. I lose 1 lb or 4 once in a while but always hover around the same number. I guess it's good I'm not gaining? I'm thinking now that I kind of have an exercise routine down, time to observe the food.
Ed and I are considering not drinking for a while, smart move [after Keith's wedding, of course...not to sound like a total holic]. And I've got to go find another 5k. Although it's starting to get cold and I need some layers or something. No idea how people run in chilly temps and weather and such. I am such a pussy. Ok, I'm thirsty, off to bed. Bay just got a double in the bottom of the 9th, I feel sick - good sick, but sick....GO SOX>>>>

Just when I thought last Sunday couldn't be topped
I'm on my way to the 3rd playoff game against the Angels! I'll show off a bit here and say my last and only playoff game was in 2004 against the Angels as well. We all know how that turned out. Ok need to park now, write more later.
Ok, so didn't turn out so super amazing. What was super-amazing was our seats: State Street pavillion, right above where Remy sits. We had a waiter! And cup-holders!!

It was awesome. Bum out of an ending, entertaining game over-all, not cold until the 10th or so inning. A bit of a silver lining is my favorite ex-boss Joe is going tonight and he would miss his play-off game if we did win so I'm taking solace in that. Plus we're currently winning game 4 in the 8th so I can be a bit ok with it.
So I'm wayyy behind, let's back it up. Yesterday was Sunday, I got up and grabbed some WPF peasant white [and a little chocolate cake for my parents' house]. Made some ham, egg and cheeses on that, had a cup of tea, some juice-water. Rode the bike for 25 minutes, did my arms pgood girl!]. Headed over to the parents after getting the call from Meagan that the opportunity of a lifetime would occur tonight, so stoked. Sad to miss my parents' Sunday supper but life is about choices. Ed dropped me off, took all of the laundry again [second week in a row, I'm lucky- can't wait for my own W&D!!!]. Hung out for a bit with the fam, I had to leave at 5 so it was brief. My mom made me a delicious salad of Bob Gaudet tomatoes, cukes and some store-bought mixed greens. Tossed that with some olive oil, white basalmic and S&P. SOOOOO good. Linus was being a brat and apparently peed all over the attic prior to my visit. Seriously, I somehow went to the MSPCA for a kitten and adopted an asshole.
Headed into town around 5:30, got a meter by BU. We knew we had fancy seats so I had to trade my chucks and giant Pap jersey for heels and a button down and sweater [at Fenway? and NOT after work? too weird]. Went up to our seats, fully dazzled. We had a lovely waiter Ben, and I had 2 beers, a pinot grigio [scariledge at Fenway but i have boobs so it's not sooo bad], a hot dog [yummm!], chips, some chicken tenders [mehh] and some fries [ehh]. The game was 5+ hours long, I got out of there after 1, took forever to get a cab, one of my major issues with downtown Boston. The T "runs" but not nearly as often or efficiently as needed - yet they don't put enough cabs out either!! Ridiculous. Chugged a Propel on the way home, I was getting that so tired I feel nauseous feeling? Yeah, not a great sleeping weekend, but a great weekend overall. Angels just tied it up...GO SOX!!!

This never gets old
And by this I mean the Sox kicking ass and taking names in the post-season. What is up with the Angels? Their line-up is gnarly, that K-Rod scares the crap out of me, and yet the first 2 games were pretty f-ing sweet for Asshole Nation [Darling and I have christened us that, we really are invasive and obnoxious, in all the right ways of course].
One may wonder why I'm up at 7:45 blogging on a Saturday. Especially after being up until 2 for these goddamn West Coast games. Well, today is the 5k, starts at 9. I have an oddly high-school nervous feeling, like it's an SAT Saturday. I'm up early, I don't snooze my alarm, I'm eating a healthy breakfast - yogurt and an e muffin w/ butter and some tea...is that healthy? God I hope so, I am not in the mood to puke or pass out today, my weekend is very unscheduled and I'd like to fill it with relaxation and to-do list accomplishments. Feeling sick with nullify both.
So I don't think I blogged yesterday...I did have those 2 cookies and that tea Thursday night. Yesterday I started with some DD HEC on a croissant and a tea. Had Finagle for lunch, their buffalo chicken on foccacia sandwich? Delicious, even though I think they forgot my blue cheese. The focaccia was tasty. Diet coke with that. Bag of doritos and apple were complimentary [splg?] but I didn't eat either. Had a snickers bar and tea for my afternoon snack.
Ok, I had to run, literally, it's now post-race but I'll finish up yesterday. No exercise, 2 vodka-Sprites after work, some Iggy's bread and calamari [we Desfina'd]. Got home and had some pasta with Earth Balance and s&p and garlic salt. Had some juice-water, stayed up wayyy too late watching the game, till 2 and then got up at 6:40 to prepare for the 5k.

M-T-W-TH
Ok I am uber far behind and trying to cram this in before the scond episode of the Office. Ed wants to watch the dbate but goddamn it'll be all over YouTube tomorrow and I can no longer watch TV at my job now that I have real responsibilities so I WIN. Will spell check later.
Monday - Westford...
Oatmeal with SM and banana; tea
A Yogurt
Afternoon Snickers w/ more tea
Post work piece of bread and butter
Post work piece of ham [I am a neanderthal]
Went for a run/walk with Erin
Did my arms
Had a big-ass burger Ed made [w/ cheese and tomatoes on it; yum!]
Ate some late-night popcorn
Had a glass or 2 of wine
Tuesday ACCCCKKK. I totally didn't finish in time but it doesn't matter because the frigging debate is on EVERY CHANNEL. This sucks.
Westford as well
Oatmeal for breakfast, tea
Grilled Cheese and Tomato w/ fries for lunch
Cherry Coke Zero [delicious!]
Trivia Pizza
3 glasses of Shiraz
4th place. 4th place is the worst at trivia, I'd rather totally suck than get 4th.
No exercise, end of the quarter and I was at work till like 6 something
Wednesday - had a Dr appt and worked from Cambridge
Multigrain cheerios with a banana and some soy milk
Had a piece of toast too, and some tea
Boca cheese quesadilla and a diet coke for lunch
Afternoon 3 Musketeers [getting bad with the PM candy habit...] and more tea
Got home late [Target after work, kept under $100, woo-hoo!], no exercise. I suck.
Had a rummalicious ginger and lime cocktail post-work
Ate some edmamae and an english muffin with earth balance and garlic salt late-night
Today, finally I'm caught up!
Late start, conference call confusion and I left here at like 8:30, got to WF at 9:30
Crappy cafe bagel with butter and cream cheese...
Cream cheese tasted funkified so I removed half of it
More tea.
Had Japanese for lunch with Work-Lindsay. Karma near the office.
Generally good, today gross.
Rotten avacado, weird chicken, she brought me hot n sour and not miso.
The Chicken Katsu $9 lunch box was a bum out. Diet coke was good.
Had a yogurt on the ride home.
Ran with Erin and Josh and Mia, most of the entire dog path Cedar to Alewife.
Pausing at our breaks. I ran fast for fear that Josh would mock me. Boys.
Kind of have a odd half headache and feel deathly faint right now.
Can't wait for Saturday! Not.
Had 2 pieces of WPF toast with butter and garlic salt
Drinking some watered down juice.
Considering making some tea and downing a couple of the Double-Choco Milanos I have hidden in the bedroom....hmm.
Darling is making Chicken Katsu right now and I'm bummed itw as already ruined for me today. Smells divine!

So Tired
A rainy weekend day - shocking. It's almost 2, I had the can't-sleeps but now am getting droopy so this will be brief. Helped Bart & Elena move, they are so nice and their new place is A-M-A-Z-I-N-G. Moving is hard, I have a new appreciation for Princess [and his buddy Dan who helped us, he was awesome!], he is so good at it and really thinks about stuff and seems to feel satisfied when he gets a dresser somewhere that seemed impossible or angles a giant sofa in just the right way. Too bad it's so bad for your back, cause he really liked that job. Oh well, I still get the benefit of having an ex-mover [and all his ex and current mover friends] in my house with me, I am lucky. Today I gave him a 98% approval rating.
Started that at 11, starving. Had some food after Round 1 [we had to take 2 trips, god I hate U-Hauls...and weird tented events that Cambridgians decide to hold in the middle of major roads on weekends], half a chicken salad sandwich and some champagne [Elena and I speak the same language when it comes to booze] and some Diet Pepsi and part of a brownie. Moving took most of the day, but we got home and Ed took a shower and I went to Shaws. Shaws on Saturday is always more terrifying than usual, not sure what's going on there. If I were a crazy, I'm pretty sure I'd shop like Thursday morning when no one was there, becuase I wouldn't have to be rotting at a desk like most of the sane folks. That might've been a really insensitive sentence, I am exhausted.
Anyhow, got back and Ed made some Iggy's bread with yellow heirloom tomatoes and mozarella and drizzled with olive oil and S&P. Delicious appetizer. He made my favorite, chicken katsu with rice, it was so good, again I am so lucky to have a chef since my kitchen skills are slim to none. I can do dishes. I wanted ice cream but had an apple instead [insert debbie downer noise]. That was at like 10, I reconsidered later and had some tea and half a Chunky bar around 11:30. Ooh and Elena gave us wonderful straight off the boat Russian vodka so I had a cocktail as well. The bottle top looks like a giant diamond, so rad.
As I said, it's now 2. I've been obsessing over the house and my calendar and life in general, I think moving others kind of made me realize, holy crap this will be me in a month. I need a serious purge. And then I need to pick out paint colors. I am so excited! I probably just jinxed myself. Good night!

Mind the Gap
So it's been a little while since my last post, maybe 27 hours but I've been so good at posting regularly! Whatever, I will not beat myself up. First thing to report today is that I did wind up doing my arm exercises yesterday, with better form. Secondly, I am sore as helllll today, legs and arms. I think that means it's working? Princess said I look like I'm getting skinnier but he is sweet like that on occasion, even if it is a blatant lie. And that is why I love him.
After my arms and my 2 hours of make up, I picked up Meagan in Rozzie and headed to The Alchemist. I was terrified of Triple Ds [even with a rad karaoke night], but had heard good things about the place since the transition/yuppification. I started the night with a drink [shocker], asked if the sangria was good, got a yes, and ordered it. I need like an electric collar for when I try to order sangria in public. It's amazing once in a while and the rest of the times it ranges from ehhh to gross. I have a killer homemade sangria recipe from Pedro at work and I really should just stick to that. This tasted like an apple Jack Daniels wine cooler of a bad flavor of Boones' Farm. Impossible, I know. I LOVE BF, but some of their flavors are rank. Come to think of it, their sangria actually tasted better than this sangria and i seem to recall BF sangria having a slight vomit odor. So yeah, I think it may have been a white sangria - which really needs to be handled properly - but whatever it was, gnarly to the point that I had like 5 sips and put it to the side.
Making up for this was the caprese salad [dope tomatoes, right amount and flavor of balsamic, leafy greens on the side, enough cheese!] and little flatbread and oil they bring you. Both were excellent. For someone with not an Italian bone in her body, I sure have the palate of those folks. The I got the steak tips and fries for dinner, delicious...Highland Kitchen does them better, but HK is amazing. I also ordered a glass of Malbec with my steak, which was sooooo much better than the sangria. And a HUGE pour. I actually wound up pouring my remaining sangria into my wine when it was 2/3 gone and it was a world of improvement.
That was that, we headed to the Jeannie. The JJ has gone immensely down hill [god, this post is making me feel old - bitch bitch bitch, the kids these days, up hill both ways, etc.] since it was my stomping grounds in the early 2000s. We used to go there every Saturday for karaoke. We tried again last night, but they switched DJs and few years ago and I do not know what it is about a karaoke dj but they can be kind of a-holes. I may be projecting since it's my life goal to BE a karaoke dj and now I just work as a sales slave for networking gear, so I'm hating. But he has yet to dazzle me. And the crowd....first of all, half the people were like 19, I swear. There was one crazy woman in a pink jumpsuit at the bar. I loathe places with only one stall in the bathroom [TTs!]. And the place turned into like Allston after 11:30. Crowded, hot, too many people, I couldn't tell who was hiding a shiv in their ankle, skankariffic clothes everywhere, and wayyyy too much hoochie dancing. It's karaoke, some is allowed, but leave room for the holy ghost! Plus some of the JP hipsters were irritating too, but at least they were there to sing and be obnoxious with their friends, not act like they were at Rain nightclub in Saugus.
Plus, and I bleed Boston, never leaving but, I think I've determined why I crossed the River. We do have better food and more affordable apts and more stuff to do within my interests and tax brackets. But beyond that, half the people I saw last night either went to my high school or were younger siblings/friends of people I grew up with. I have my too-cool death glare down pat [thanks Orange Lone], and don't remember any of these people on a name/friendly basis, but it's enough to put you on guard that you may run into someone you haven't seen in a long-ass time. Which may be fun...for 2 minutes and then be awful. Not my scene, I'm a thousand I guess, it did make me sad to see the old stomping grounds go sooooo downhill.
Back to reality, I had a diet coke and 2 Coronas and a water for the rest of the night. Had a good time with Meagan and Emily and her dad. Darling called me like 4 times at 1:20 [I NEVER call when he is out, I hate a nag] and wasn't really making sense but I figured whatever. Got home and there's like piles of stuff that was previously on the couch now on the floor and half our magnets all over the kitchen floor. And the bar to the freezer door almost impaled me when I opened it [after following the trail of destruction, I figured I had to check and make sure he wasn't trying to charge his phone in there or something]. He was already in bed so I went in and gave my most annoyed "What the fuck happened to the house, dude?" Nothing. Try again, still nothing. Grab his foot and shake. Eyes open, "What were you drinking?".
"Feeelsi ilkssie mngdhhdvppppp...."
"What?"
"Eeeksi bliffghippppy....."
"You're such a loser"
Love sweet love.

Trivia Tuesday
While I loathe Mondays, I luuurve Tuesdays. Not because I get assaulted at work with all the emails a. from people who were out/shunning me Friday and/or Monday and b. from people who weren't out but should've sent them prior to 4 pm today so I could actually help them, and didn't. Thank god my mom doesn't read this blog because that last sentence was a grammar nightmare. I'm also noticing it's difficulty to type. You know why? Because it's TRIVIA TUESDAY which means I'm 2.5 sheets to the wind.
I go to trivia at Olde Magoun's on the Somerville/Meffa border each Tuesday with a revolving cast of characters. I was originally recruited by my colleague/friend Andy who went with his friend Matt. They were really good except for the fashion/beauty/pop culture/celebrity divorce questions -AKA the Pink Pie in Trivial Pursuit. This is where I came in. What I lack in useful knowledge about science or geography, I make up for in knowing Halle Berry's first husband's name [former Atlanta Brave David Justice, and he hit her - allegedly].
We worked as a team of 3 for a while and I invited my sister and she is wayyy more popular than I am so she actually came WITH PEOPLE. Andy has since had a baby and Matt's job is nuts and he's getting married [grown-ups], so they don't attend so often anymore but generally each week it's myself, maybe Caroline, her friend Martin almost always, and her other friends Paul, Mike and Jay come in as they can. They do Improv Practice on Tuesday which is awesome but I'm sad it conflicts with our big night. Sometimes C's delightful boyfriend Brian even joins us, all the way from the NH. That is a trooper move, if anyone asked me to go to something in NH on a Tuesday night and drive back and go to work the next morning I'd show them to the nearest bridge and then push them off.
Anyhow, I love trivia. The host is great, the bar is great, the questions are never too easy. I even wrote a glorifying Yelp review about it -which the host now totally knows about, scoring us brownie points. Some a-hole out of towner called him a Douche on Yelp, and he is so not a douche, I had to defend him. Fun times all around, I genuinely look forward to it and enjoy myself even if we place a miserable 15th or whatever we did tonight. We lost it in the 4th round...anyone ever heard of Mr Bill? Apparently some old SNL skit with a key nemesis. Sue us for not knowing the nemesis' name. I'm already excited for next week though, this is the beauty of it.
Part of the highlight of Trivia night is that I get to be excessive food and beverage-wise. The scale indicated I lost like 4 lbs this morning and I guarantee I just put it all back on in the past 3 hours. I have 98% of an entire margarita pizza [they make it Napoleon style on a BED OF LIGHTLY SPRINKLED SEA SALT, can you really blame me?] and 3 beers on average. This was tonight's menu, a whole pizza, a Raspberry UFO and 2 Sea Dog Blueberries. For those of you with little to no deduction skills, I don't like beer unless it's fruity. I also had a bite of Martin's Fireside Dip which is an item I would order again in a heart beat. As Rachel Ray would say, YUM-O.
So yeah, beyond that: Sox ate it at the last minute, booo. Had cereal per usual, a banana, some tea. A grilled cheese and tomato and veggie soup with a Snapple Diet IT for lunch [Westford again...groan]. I had a pounding headache by the time I got to the bar, but I washed down two Advils with my first beer [note to kids: don't do this]. No exercise, just the walk to the bar [such a sad sentence]. I meant to get up early and slept through my alarm, again [thanks Ed]. Had another lovely night of up at 3 with neurosis and back to bed at 4. Awesome. The I was at work from 8:45 until 7:20. Not recommended either. Hopefully it pays off.
Speaking of paying off, the house is whatever; I'm so over this process. I feel like we're behaving so reasonably and being accommodating. To be honest, I'm acting with a tenth of the insanity, vigor and obstinacy with which I'd want to act if left to my own devices [thanks to the advice of Darling and other parties]. These people are difficult. Let's hope it's worth it, otherwise, I'm hitting the road STAT. It makes me sad to think of but sometimes enough is a enough. Offer was accepted but I'd say due to other circumstances, it's a 30/70 shot, 70 being we don't wind up living there. Not to be Pissy Sally but that's how I feel right now with all of that.
Ok, I'm tired and it just took me a good 6 minutes to fix all those typos. Good night!

Bienvenue September!
It's Monday, but a better Monday than most because I'm not at work. Today's been very mellow, got some peasant white from When Pigs Fly and some marscapone from the dairy joint next door. Whipped that together with some tomato and made a cup of tea and it was a delicious breakfast. Then I had a banana and some seltzer with cranberry juice mixed in.
Last night I did go for the microwave popcorn, that LOL Homestyle with the salt and right amount of real butter [so they say] is just divine late night. How do people do those diets where they don't eat after like 7? I could never. Speaking of never, still no exercise today. I even drove to WPF, such a lazy shit. It's a holiday, maybe I'll get inspired later tonight.
For the rest of the day, cook-out at my parents, I got a little bread pudding from WPF for a mini-dessert [my parents are healthier than I could ever hope to be]. I'll have a yogurt beforehand so as not to starve until dinner. I can't decide if my talent for not eating lunch on weekends is a good thing or bad, but it seems to be a pattern I'm stuck in. We ate breakfast at like 11:30, that's got to count as a brunch of some kind...
